I ahve many a minute but this is a home run or strike out. He drives me crazy....he can dazzle the shoot out of you and make super skilled plays in a nonchalant way like it ain't no thing. He comes to play and then other time just disappears. BUT NO ONE can say there isn't a huge good hands centre in this package...The Hawks just wanted to thrump the Blues taking him...but I love Robbi Fabbri much more....I was convinced they were going Sammi's son.
This of course is longer term project who is not the sum of his parts. Displays good feet, vision, hands of the high end level, but his work ethic is on the low end. Needs to be become an all around team first player who helps his team get chances, and not wait for the team around him to provide him with scoring chances. Takes many a shift off, and can disappear in a tight checking game. The question remains will the team that drafts him see the dazzling skill and motor for 60 minutes? Was named to the U.S. World Junior A roster for the Junior A Challenge. Committed to North Dakota University. - wiz1901
As close as they are to cap Hell - and probably will be for several years - does it make sense to draft a questionable, home-run-or-strike-out project? Especially if they don't have a second or third round pick (I don't think)?

STL picked next. Judging by their reactions, he wouldn't have lasted another pick. - NewToHockey
Yeah probably. Actually a year ago I remember reading how highly touted he was and how some school took his brother hoping it would make it easier to recruit Nick. I think I saw that somewhere. But this year wasn't that good for him |

I'm thrilled that Stan has the balls to go and spite another team to draft a guy who's not likely to do much in the league anyway.
Wish he felt this much urgency to get a 2C. - Hawks82
I don't think they did it to spite STL, I think they wanted him and knew he wouldn't be there if they waited. |

And she'd probably have loved to serve them a bowl of matzo ball soup and abuse Gary Bettman over the late release of the salary cap numbers. |

The only consolation I find at this point is that Stan's draft picks that contribute quickly all seem to be from the lower rounds. Given the late drafting position, maybe his drafting strategy is to swing for the fences in the first round. If so, you have to expect some strike outs.
Who knows? It would go with his history if Stan drafted someone tomorrow that made the roster by the end of 2016. Then again, Stan doesn't have a full compliment of picks now. |

Did you think they were going to draft a guy to come in and play? There aren't any in this draft aside from maybe 3-5 players. |

That's the guy I wanted (not that I know much about these things) at least good to know he wouldn't have lasted until 27. |
