Now hearing:
Much going on
Something to Hawks/FL rumor. Confirmed.
Hawks still in on Kesler but yes, ANA has inside track. Moving Sharp is holding a lot of things (including this) up right now.
Sharp likely gone soon. FL could be the place, Sharp and Campbell out together the other night. - John Jaeckel
IMO: Everything/everyone is waiting on the official cap number to be announced. |

Gudbranson is an RFA, his cap hit last year was 3.2 mil.
I would think that means either he is part of a deal to Vancouver or Leddy or Oduya is traded. - Hemingways
Gudbranson's cap hit included $2.3M in bonuses. It was the last year of his ECL. I doubt he would be looking for anything close to $3M. He's only 22.
Anyone know anything about this kid? |

That's not a bad offer for FL. Not sure that the inclusion of EG doesn't favor it a little towards the Hawks side though. The question would be do the Hawks keep the #1 to draft to a center OR trade that #1 to Vancouver for Kesler(allowing them to keep TT)? - Bjm84
Maybe Stan keeps the #1, drafts a center and signs Stastny? |

Campbell lives in Chicago so I would not infer anything solely on seeing those two at a cubs game. You could just as infer hawks in on Campbell solely off that. |

And JJ do they need to move Sharp to fit Kesler under the cap? - z1990z
They either have to move Sharp OR one of Leddy/Oduya in addition to Rozy to fit Kessler in.

Apparently Berglund for Garrison was going down before Garrison said no. |

You are not kidding. This is insane. I don't want Kesler in a Ducks uniform.

That's what I was thinking. Plus you get a stud on an ELC and keep TT |

Soup's place is in Lincoln Park, roll past it often. It's up for sale and AFAIK, he hasn't been there for some time. |

That's a curious deal on both sides. Berglund is a guy who looks the part but kind of underachieves if you ask me and the Blues need another $4mil plus defenseman like they need a hole in their heads. That team needs real scoring.

The ELC for a #1 overall would carry a pretty significant cap hit....likely in the $3M range. Not sure they could hack it, with Stastny (should they go that route). |

Could be....just way too many things going on around Sharp....Way too many people saying he's available, including Kuc now, who wouldnt' say that unless he knows for certain. When he does try to break something, it has legs.
Getting the 1st overall pick could be the hold up to Kesler and Van waiting. Question is will Murray wait around IF he has inside track or does he turn to Ottawa? IF he did, Kesler is a Hawk.
I'll say this....Bowman deserves some credit right now. He's being very active and goes back to my earlier post about him realizing they can't sit back and get internal growth. they need external help. |

The long term projection on Ekblad is not Seabrook, according to most scouts. |

I think from a cap standpoint IF they really wanted to they just could sit back and throw out close to the same team next year, they probably could but then you're looking at another capocalypse next offseason that wouldn't exactly be like 2010 but wouldn't be pretty either. I think SB is trying to get the jump on that now along with acquiring a #2C. I've said for a while now that I anticipate the Hawks getting younger the next two offseasons because of the #19/#88/#20 extensions.
