Don't teams like the Hawks and Bruins have more political power when it comes to decisions like the cap ? They could have pushed harder for a 72m cap ?
Or do they not care about that either ?
I'm mostly upset about the Cap# because even missing out on Kesler you figured the Hawks had other options but now it will be even trickier to have player movement - mrpaulish
The most they could have pushed for was 70 mil. Cap is based on league revenue, not what the GM's want. They got it from 68 mil(league revenue converted to cap from last year) to 69 mil. They did it by saying the new TV contract would bump it up to 70 mil.
Cap was then going to be voted on (more low to mid cap teams than cap lvl teams) so they agreed on 69 mil which was in between the two.... |

Typical bowman day...covet a prospect and make a move looking forward instead of trying to make this team a juggernaut by adding a top 6 center. I expected it but it still is frustrating. Hawks still have as good a chance at a cup as anyone next year...they could've separated themselves by adding a legit center but they are going to be a good team next year and I will watch all 82 games again. Blues have no goalie and avs have no defense. West finals are definitely likely but beating Ducks/la will be tough...excited for the rest of the summer BC Stan will make some moves yet..just not star additions |

Its for 575K. It won't count against the cap when he plays in the Rock next year. - Elbows15
I don't see him escaping from Rock Vegas next year...at all. |

I envision a D of...
Keith/Seabs/Hammer (looking good)...
then Leddy/Rundblad/Rockford File...
that's awesome. We're gonna win the damn Cup wit that. |

Exactly. So whatever they pay him doesn't matter. He is barely an AHL players from what I saw.

The cap bothers me more than not making a deal to get a 2C. - jhawk159
This whole week bothers me...
How the playoffs ended bothers me...
How the Hawks played from New Years on bothers me...
I'm just in a foul mood...
It's gonna be a long summer... Hopefully it stays cool |

So, you work for the Hawks? - Elbows15
Nope, just basic Stan Bowman philosophy. Low cap hit, puck moving defensemen, gave a 2nd round pick for...... He wont give up on a guy that quickly..... Have noticed what he has done in the past, with his trades? Has he given up on any1 that their contract was about to be up after less than half a season? I follow patterns, not just guessing. |

Unloading Oduya is a bad move. I hope Stanley does not do it. ANYTHING to keep Leddy from facing top 6 forwards. Hell, bottom 6 pylons and meatheads make him puke on his skates in his own zone, imagine what the top 6s will do.

Hysteria = Facts this poster doesn't like.
Drink up the Kool Aid it's tasty. - kwolf68
Seem to recall this board having the same reaction 2 offseasons ago and we walked away with a cup that following year.
It's not sexy standing pat, but giving multiple variables the team has to deal with you can't be totally surprised what has gone down so far.
Rather Bowman be conservative than blowing assets. Just because certain moves are made does not automatically guarantee a championship. |

The greatest example of disengagement ever seen. You and others only offering to this forum is to chastise others for HOW they respond. I did not say you should not write your opinion, write it down, but be prepared to be called out if you are acting like a sanctimonious ass.
You take no exception to anything in particular, just that people are upset and responding in a way not to your liking. Get the hell over yourself.
And where did I tell you TO LEAVE? That's right, I didn't. Oh but you should leave if posting protocols don't make you happy. That's not a command only a suggestion. - kwolf68
From your earlier post..... "If the discourse isn't to your liking, find something else to do."
Yep, I never have talked about hockey here. And I'll stand with my earlier point - this joint read like a pack of teenagers. Sorry if you don't like it, Wolfie. It doesn't ruin my day to know that you disagree. |

You can't vent frustration. It's doom and gloom and a pack of teenagers like. Please drink more freaking kool aide and respond as the anointed suggest you to.
The Hawks have some great, elite talent, but have some major flaws of concern, but I fear discussing them because the pom pom squad has showed up with their kazoos, party hats and big red noses. |

It was a general statement in response to your general statement that nobody can go against the opinions on the board. Doom was all over the board tonight. My opinion is that it is overblown and certainly premature. |

I really suspect it'll be Leddy that's gone with Dahlbeck or Brookbank/Rozy/Runblad in third pair |

Nice retort. Useless, meaningless...much like what you want this forum to become based on your self-appointed standards.
People who rag people on how they post simply put suck. It's a freaking message board...people are hyped up, fired up, some are drinking, having fun, lashing out, being fans...
It's NOT gonna be a Mensa convention. The sooner folks like you figure it out, then you can actually offer your actual opinions on things (which are very often solid). |
