There is still hope that a few youthful tweaks could breathe life into Vancouver’s aging stars. But it’s likely that fixing this team will be a project several years in the making — and one that’s already a few years too late. - Grumpy13
Not exactly earth-shattering commentary. |

Just say no to the donkey show.
Move him now or at least before the season starts. No more distractions and media gong show around a trade. If the ducks move the 10th and a prospect say etem take it. Honestly take anything half close.
Don't move up draft Ehlers and virtanen
Sedins ehlers virtanen kassian horvat and shinkaruk etem and burr is top 9. We get thumped this year have assets an a high pick next year to trade for 1st overall and get mcdavid.
All the worlds problems have been solved. You are welcome lol |

I may get crapped on for this.... but do we all remember a little whiny baby getting his way in 2011. Gillis shouldve kept Hodgson.... that trade was brutal(at that particular time) Hodgson was producing points in his role and arguably would've been a difference maker more than Kassian during that cup run. - nelson911
Been discussed to death. Awful timing & value at the time. May work out as Kassian should flourish under Desjardins. |

I now he's still young, but if he doesn't show some legit top 6 ability more consistently this season then I think we need to start tempering our expectations.
I'd like to hear Chompsey's and Booner's thoughts on the trade again though. |

How could Hodgson have been a difference maker from the press box? |

He's shown flashes under awful circumstances (AV & Torts). I'm optimistic. |

I didn't mean to suggest that the details were the same. Rather, that I don't want to see management bungle this thing like the previous regime did with Luongo.
I hope the comments are all posturing and that they get a deal done at the draft. - Michael_Stuart
Me too... and not for 3rd liner's and a crappy prospect + late first rounder. |

???
He played every game for the nucks in 2011 and was putting up some good points...
Are you referring to him not being able to play in the playoffs because its tough? |

In all seriousness, I just don't want this turning into another fiasco where the GM thinks he can get more value for the player than he's ever actually going to get (i.e. Lu2.0). - Michael_Stuart
The difference being, Kes walks in two years at the age of 31, not seven years at the age of 42. If the right deal isn't there and you're getting low-balled, two years is not a long time, then you keep him. |

Don't most power forwards start to develop around 24 25 years old? If I'm not mistaken isn't kass basically just getting there. Call me crazy but I think he is going to be a great 20 wish goal scoring playmaker with size |

Trade senses are on high alert. Starting to sound like Kesler deal is inching closer. Still working on destination, but next 24hrs, perhaps.

Meh, I don't think Dreger has any legit sources in Vancouver, most of the info he's getting has to be coming from around the league, and I doubt they know about all offers the Canucks are getting and from which teams. |

Curious to know everyone's pro-projection comparables for Reinhart, Draisaitl, Bennett & DalColle... If you got 'em, post 'em (be as original as possible - I already know what the media & scouts are saying and I agree in some cases - don't in others). |

Check again

He played 8 regular season games and didn't see the ice against Boston because of his defensive liabilities. |

HB? Chicago blog? Likely just pure speculation.
Just a nice little bit of activity up to the draft before the lull of the summer.
When Benning was talking about Eriksson I wasn't sure if he was being polite to Boston or priming the market for that acquisition. but classic321 is on the money with "Plus the guy is one concussion away from Marc Savard. " - makes me queasy just reading that sentence.

Dreger tweeted this a while ago and he would never tweet out false info

I remember the Boston game and he was our only good player. Scored a rocket slapper off the crossbar... Also produced more 5 on 5 pts than Kesler before he was traded. Then again, I've been on a steady diet of Cuban cigars & flu meds all week so maybe I don't even know what you guys are arguing about... |

Reality check. We are going to be dreadful for the next 2-3 years whatever we do, so may as well trade the vets for best available return. |
