If we're talking about valuable assets in the form of Shinkaruk and or Ehlers vs Reinhart or Bennett when we're not sure who is actually better, I choose the center every time. All of these kids at this point are a best guess projection which is a very inexact science.

Quality is better than quantity. Looking into the future I want a one two punch with Horvat, that's my train of thought.

We're talking about Shinkaruk, Ehlers and Tanev vs Reinhart.

Sorry, if the team is in as bad of shape as people suggest then we'll get another crack at a top line C, maybe 2 or 3 cracks.

CHI has been chasing a 2C for several years now. Handzus was a Hail Mary option, they tried Sharp and even Kane at 2C. Nothing new there but I've never seen them overpay (in their eyes) on any player so it's unlikely they'll do so now believing they are 1 of 2 teams in the running for Kesler.

I can see Andrew Shaw becoming that 2 line centre. Currently, he's more of a tweener - 2 / 3rd line. But I have a feeling his stock is going to continue to rise. He's only 22 and already shown what type of game he can bring - from gritty to finesse.

I can also see the possibility of moving Saad to a 2nd line center role - or if the stars aligned, seeing TT make the roster on opening night. So, it's not exactly like the Hawks have no options at the C position

Technically the Canucks could end up with picks 1, 6, 10 and 27 with only giving up Kesler and Schroeder.

Edit: I forgot to include Raymond and Ballard.

Yup. I believe they're ranked as:
OHL
WHL
QMJHL

The Q produces some pretty high end offensive talent.

I just wonder if he's more of an Erik Johnson(still a damn solid player, but not #1 worthy). I have him ranked 3rd still for his upside as a dman.

The Dub is known as the toughest jr league in the world to play in right?(at least according to guys that have played there lol)

But the media types ignore the west or are fairly ignorant towards things not ohl or phenomenal in the Q.

So my Question is, with Reinhart having hall, Tavares, Stamkos-like #s In a tougher league and the highest ppg to come out of the whl in quite some time, could he be franchise and is he underrated because of the eastern based media's ignorance?

- I-own_da-Northwest

It's tough for several reasons, travel being the one that comes to mind first and foremost. I played a loooong time ago, 29 years ago, that said, they still play a heavy game.

Reinhart has played enough on a national stage I think he gets fairly judged by the scouts, I could care less what the media says about players skill-sets. I personally really like him and I'd pick him first overall. But, I don't know much about Bennett, so I'm Western biased by default.

Honestly he reminds me of John Tavares, their skating is not the greatest but their work ethic and hockey iq are exceptional.

I don't believe we'll be picking this low again for quite some time, make hay while the sun shines, I still make that trade.

I agree with Golfing. We don't have a second line or 4 th . I think we will finish with a high pick next year. new style new coach.
