Tell that to the Blackhawks.
- golfingsince

Kings with Kopitar Carter Richards and Stoll beat them didn't they? Hawks are a great team but even they realize they need more depth at center behind Toews to win.

We all do I think, but where my geography is of. Alot of southerners are offended at our sense of humour up here.

I hear ya, but they went to game 7OT with Hanzus as their #2 ?

Don't get me wrong, I think building up the middle is a great premise for any sports team wether it be football, baseball, etc.

I just don't think it's a sound principle to trade valuable assets to reach for someone when quite possibly higher skill at another position or maybe even the same one will be there regardless.

Both teams also had a great D . Both teams could, transition the puck 100 times better than us.

CHI has been chasing a 2C for several years now. Handzus was a Hail Mary option, they tried Sharp and even Kane at 2C. Nothing new there but I've never seen them overpay (in their eyes) on any player so it's unlikely they'll do so now believing they are 1 of 2 teams in the running for Kesler.

The Dub is known as the toughest jr league in the world to play in right?(at least according to guys that have played there lol)

But the media types ignore the west or are fairly ignorant towards things not ohl or phenomenal in the Q.

So my Question is, with Reinhart having hall, Tavares, Stamkos-like #s In a tougher league and the highest ppg to come out of the whl in quite some time, could he be franchise and is he underrated because of the eastern based media's ignorance?

That's a really good observation......I think we see kesler as a Canuck in October....

So bobby mac was talking about the possible deal between van and Florida. If that is the real offer wow that seems like a lot. Who does Van take with the 1st?

That's my point exactly. We have many positions of need. Sacrificing 3 to "reach" for 1 is a bad move IMO. I'm still not sold there is a #1C in this draft.

If CHI and ANA truly are the only 2 teams in the running, I totally agree.

They trade it to Toronto for Kadri, Reilly, Bernier and the 8th.

The Canucks will flip the #1 pick for a mega corporate sponsorship to buy out all the empty seats next season.

No. The Dub is considered toughest as in rough and tumble. Generally the OHL has the most talent.

I don't think this class is as weak as everyone thinks, at least at the forward position. Defense is another story.

If we're talking about valuable assets in the form of Shinkaruk and or Ehlers vs Reinhart or Bennett when we're not sure who is actually better, I choose the center every time. All of these kids at this point are a best guess projection which is a very inexact science.

Quality is better than quantity. Looking into the future I want a one two punch with Horvat, that's my train of thought.
