Nothing is guaranteed. I think you have to take the chance and based on Eriksson's history he deserves it.

Agreed. It's similar to when the Habs re-signed Markov after a bad knee injury. They were signing him with hopes he'd return to his former self.
It took a bit.. but he did!

he may. but people need to stop re writing history about how bad the trade was.

Plus it's still too early to tell. It's safe to say that Smith played beyond initial expectations.

It's believed Kane-Toews initial ask of CHI on extension is around $12M/yr each. They'll end up lower but still could be $10M+ AAV players.

And then live in a world of average to below average until they retire because Chicago will have to trade everyone else.

That depends on how they draft and develop and how much the cap raises in the next few years. Initially, it will be a drain for sure.

Even if it goes up to $10MM

Between those 2 (Say 11MM per) Crawford(6MM) Seabrook (5.8) Keith(5.5) that's 40MM in space, or 50% of the cap in 5 players.

Still need 13 more players.

I remember some not so nice activities going on in Toronto around the time of the G8 and G20.

Just throwing that out there

- Kaden

As someone from Quebec you should know that the Blackbloc that attacked downtown Toronto were mostly French people from Quebec. The G summits were not attacked by people p.o.'d they lost a hockey game, it was people that come to ever G summit to cause issues and have an excuse to smash things and cause anarchy. The part about the Blackbloc that makes me mad is it took away from people doing genuine protests. Remember the student protests in Montreal? It was not the real protesters that caused the issues, it was the fools using it as a reason to cause anarchy.

Thank you for showing how either truly delusional you are or you in ability to tell the difference between Protest, Anarchy and baseless riots....

I would not want to write of Errikson and I believe Suban would be exposed without Markov on the power play.

The Stanley Cup is riot worthy, not like the G8 and G20 summits. Priorities!
- InYoFaceSukka

Get facts, it was not people from Toronto smashing things, it was the Backbloc (mostly French people from Quebec) and some US people wanting Anarchy, not protesters.

When a protest was going on a march, a group of people broke away from the main group and started smashing everything.

To destroy your own city because you lost a hockey game is a disgrace.

Best thing out of the riot though was the 2 people making out on the street with hell happening around them lol

great trade Chiarelli! if Reilly Smith didnt end up being a top line winger Boston would have really shot themselves in the foot considering Seguin will be a top 10 scorer for the next 10 years
- EnzoD

They still did. Smith will never ever become close to what Seguin is in terms of production. Seguin will be a Point per game player Smith wont. He will be top 6 forward. Dallas has now entered and won the Kessel trade

Just as similar, for the most part it wasn't Canucks fan's who rioted.
