2011 NHL draft - the day before, Paul Holmgren trades away 2 guys that helped his team go to the 2010 NHL Stanley cup finals. In 2012 & 2014 they win both cups.

Jeff Carter & Mike Richards. Do you think the Flyers have enough to show for those players today?

Sean Couturier (21)- 13G 39 pts
Brayden Schenn (22) - 20G 41pts
Jakub Voracek (24) - 23G 62pts
Wayne Simmonds (25) - 29G 60pts
Nicklas Grossmann (29) - 2nd rounder for M.R. from LA traded to DAL
Nick Cousins (20) - 3rd round pick from CBJ

While Carter> than any player in that deal, Voracek and Simmonds are damn good players, and Couts and Schenn are decent young guys, Flyers did good with their deal

Remember when people in the West told people in the East to wait till they see Loui Erikkson the most underrated player in hockey?

He's a very good hockey player but concussions are a major concern. He needs to be on a puck possession team. It's just not a good fit. Jim Nill did very well with that trade. I think Loui would do well on a team like Detroit.

Loui for the mule?

The trade was very similar to the situation with Carter and Richards trade in that Carter and Richards were notorious partiers.

I mean Seguin was caught out past curfew a couple times and was late for practice and team meetings but in both situations you can't trade away great young canadian talent like that.

Loui Eriksson is one hard hit away from missing an entire season because of head problems while Seguin is now better than a point per game player.

Terrible terrible trade.

so everything we've been hearing about Kesler to ANA or CHI is out of whack and it was really Spezza all along? while Spezza to the Leafs, and teams in the East was really Kesler?

So what gives Ek, care to explain?? Why do you even bother posting anything about the Canucks or its players??

I do think they got pretty good value for them. And mike Richards looks way past-his-prime already.

I remember some not so nice activities going on in Toronto around the time of the G8 and G20.

Just throwing that out there

I think you need to give Eriksson one more chance. Not sure any player has a good season after getting concussed twice in one year.

Nothing is guaranteed. I think you have to take the chance and based on Eriksson's history he deserves it.

The Stanley Cup is riot worthy, not like the G8 and G20 summits. Priorities!

Still don't understand why the Hawks are so heavily pursuing another centre.
