Well that'd be cool. Angelo was a big time prospect that dropped to us and hasn't played a game. I don't remember what his issues were but I think he was the number one ranked player heading into the draft year. I like the idea of Lemieux, mainly 'cause I've heard more about him and watched Claude.

Marcantuoni was supposed to be a top 5 pick and we got him in the 4th round. Just saying I don't put much stock into past history. If he's got the talent and his weakness are coachable/fixable. You can take the chance.

Hmm..must have been in discussions prior to today. Fired and hired in the same day. This actually makes me think they might have wanted Bylsma.
- YouMeAndDupuis9

I think Bylsma is getting tarnished a bit by JR to the average fans, but his lack of adjustments have probably been known for a few years. Someone said before that he'll be a media guy for a year or two and I'd agree with that.

Caps and Blues showing interest in Orpik. Hmmmm...wonder why? Reirden taking 44 with him?

Isles talking to Niskanen and/or Richards. That'd be a big change for them. Especially with a healthy Tavares.

If there's a front office that would overvalue him, that would be the one.

If fleury is moved its for a pick or a prospect... Don't see a roster player coming back

Six different teams looking at Engelland, per TSN. Have at it.

I don't understand the beef about Ho-Sang, he could be good for the Pens with all that emotion; sometimes I think they really need it.

Pens have 2 emotions: Happy. Frustrated.

Sounds like Ek is hinting at MAF to the Wild...or Penguins West.

i have followed the pens for a couple decades now. im pretty sure a duo of zatkoff and vokoun could be just as good as fluery and even better than him in the playoffs.

i am mostly in favor of losing his contract, do u think they will take scuderi as a bonus

That idea does nothing to improve the Pens or provide an answer to the goaltending beyond this year. The only thing it does is gives JR one more year to chase a not so good option to be the starter in Pittsburgh for more than one year. If you are looking to find a longer term solution in net, this is the year to do it. I see very few names that intrigue me. Next year could very well be worse.

Leaving a 37-year old goalie who missed an entire year due to blood clots as your primary netminder isn't that smart to me.

I'm really surprised niskanens rights haven't been traded. Can teams give the players offers during this time and the players just can't accept or what?

Who exactly looks promising? The last thing you want to do is go into next year with a pending free agent starter and no one close to being ready on the farm to take over. If you make a move, its this year. No on Vokoun. He doesn't solve anything.

Looking at the credential of Mike Johnston, I definitely feel it is a BIG step in the right direction for this team. I think most of the trade talk should focus on the third and fourth line. I think Goc should stay and I like Sutter as well but is there anyone else who is even remotely close to 'up tempo' in the bottom, two lines?

The Harding situation is very tough. He was playing so great but his condition is truly a terrible thing. People question Letang's health but what Harding is going through is way more significant

package deals rarely work IMO. Sure, Parise and Sutter did in Minnesota, but ...
