I think the only semi-big name player the Penguins will sign will be Kulemin. It sounds like he is not resigning with Toronto, and he would be a great fit on Malkin's left wing, adding some physicality and 2 way play to that line. Bennett either slots down to the 3rd line to give it some a more scoring touch or goes on Sid's right wing, with Dupuis dropping down to the 3rd line.

My UFA wish list

Bruins: Iggy
Sabers: Konopka
Wings: Legwand
Flyers: Downie
Rags: Boyle
Yotes: Bissonnette
Blues: Ott

Buy out: Malone- league min, 1 yr

More important is unloading Sutter, that is what the success of this season depends on, say whatever you want he is not a winner.

Wow. We wont score many goals, but damn we will be able to put a hurtin on the other team. This list is dreadful. Im starting to think youre a Flyers fan secretly trolling us for all this time. You must have loved the 70s Flyers.

I'm more interested on what the Pens will be doing when not in possession of the puck. Nobody asks questions like that; it's obviously more important to the media in Pittsburgh to clarify the level of play the coach has reached and if it will spoil his influence with such big stars as Pittsburgh has. He should have just said "Scotty Bowman".

I think the Penguins should do everything they can to put a stop to the aggrandizing of Sid.

- Johnny Wrath

I knew a young lady who aggrandized me once. Kinda liked it.

The same concepts you stress on when you have the puck you try to take away when the other team has it. Limit controlled zone entries and controlled zone exits.

Yea, Sharp is the more complete player, but we need a young guy in return as well. Saad is too valuable. Maybe Neal and our first for Sharp and Saad? Again don't see that working for Chicago. Maybe Neal for Sharp and Hartman? Sharp and one of their third liners. I dunno, just brainstorming. Don't see why CHI would wan't Neal that badly...

Could be used as part of a package for Kessler.

Beau isn't a left winger, he could then play the right side.
- Ryan_Wilson

He could open up on the off wing for shots but ur probably right he is a great passer. What do u think of vrbata for the right side @ 2yrs 6m. Or Pajarvii if we got him cheap

@JoshYohe_Trib - Tocchet: People think I'm going to walk into practice with a stick and hit people
M: Are you?
Tocchet: I mean, I wasn't planning on it.

He's a little smaller but he might be E. Kane 2.0
- YouMeAndDupuis9

They're very, very different players. Ho-Sang wants to be Patrick Kane, and Evander Kane wants to be Keith Tkachuk.

We need 3rd and 4th liners, do I have a certain style of player I like? yeah; my favorite players of all time are Barnaby and Cooke. I want dirt and other players hurt, call me what you will; but I wasn't one of the guys complaining when Sid got hit. This is what I enjoy about hockey.

What do we think about David Bolland? Gabby just signed a 7 year deal at around 4.8M (similar cap hit to Hossa); Callahan signed for 6 years at 5.8M per season.

P. Kane is probably a better comparison. I just went with E. Kane because the perceived character issues combined with all the tools but I feel his whole career could be continuing to question if he will hit his ceiling.

Let's just say he's not going to be a "best bang for your buck" kind of player.

Keeps re-emphasizing that Neal and Letang contracts are just fine...and that its unlikely we are "major" players in Free Agency.

That's the problem with signing these UFA's. Those contracts will sting as time moves along. Gabby was a great pick-up for the Kings, but I'd want no parts of him for 7 more years. AND, those are two guys that have problems staying healthy. Yuck.

Really reminds me of Drury when he was an Avalanche. Quick, shifty, and flamboyant. He wants to be the guy who scores important goals and make the highlight reels. Pittsburgh really has been lacking in that dimension outside of Malkin occasionally. If Ho-Sang's game translates to the NHL, he could be a game-breaker.

When I watch Ho-Sang, I also think about a rightly shot who can finally be a threat to score and make plays from the LW on the power play.

Music to my ears from the new HC. Dan wanted and tried to win every game, even at the expense of dressing players that could help more long-term than short-term. Hopefully, new guy has bigger picture in mind.

“The bottom-line expectation for me is that from training camp through the season, everything we do is setting the table for the playoffs,” Johnston said. The score is relevant, but it's not as relevant as the habits that are going to make us successful in the playoffs.”

I'm predicting 6 mil or a little more. Followed by a fan base mercilessly booing him when he resembles the player from previous years.

The third assistant coach had better be this man:

Good luck getting to a massage table after the game if you lost a puck battle in the corner.

Just out of curiousity... would anyone here be into the idea of bringing Brad Marchand to the Pens? He strikes me as a player you hate to play against, but love to have on your team... not saying I want it, but if it was an option, what's everyone think?

No thanks. He is a good energy guy and agitator, but he disappears in the playoffs and takes his fair share of stupid penalties. We have enough guys who do that already.
