We know you would, but realistically could MAF return a Coyle or Granlund. I don't have a grasp on some of those guys' values.

Granlund would be great! But im not sure why someone would want MAF with 1 yr left at 5 after his last few seasons. I think if someone needs a G, why not go after Hiller and at least get him at a longer term.

Nice pull! Just looked him up on Hockey Futures. Loads of potential.

The Pittsburgh-West connection. Plus, of their four goalies, one is a UFA, one a RFA, one has a terrible disease, and the last is playing out his contract in the minors. Tough position for management who already are familiar with MAF.

Assuming MAF to Minny is a possibility, what comes back for him. Aside from the cap savings. (Ryan)

Would be interesting if maybe it had something to do with Moulson.

Saw this on The Pensblog....

José Negron @JNegron_13

I think the thing I like most about Jim Rutherford and Mike Johnston is that neither of them are named Pierre McGuire

I have my hesitations with rumors at this time of the year. While I believe Minnesota is probably one of the very few (if only) front office who would give up assets for Fleury, even then I believe those assets would be muted in significance.

Patrick Sharp's agent just crucified the rumors and used quotes from Stan Bowman in their conversations to say he isn't going to be traded. You usually don't see agents get that specific.

Edit: Example:

Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus
Rick Curran on Sharp rumors: "As far as I’m concerned, the whole thing’s a fabrication from a puke out of Toronto trying to make headlines."

If you have about 20 minutes to kill today, check out this mini documentary that TSN and Michael Farber did on the 1983-84 Pens, and tanking for Lemieux. Good stuff.

I figured it out.

We should sign Iginla and trade for Okposo and Kane. Then we can make history by having the first all black line in hockey.

I'm hesitant with rumors also, I've seen that particular one a couple times over the last couple days. Started running through the Minny lineup and couldn't get a pulse for equal value. They have Heatley coming off the books and a bit of cap to work with.

And that puke of a Toronto "source" wouldn't happen to have the best initials in the business would he? D.D.!?!

It's believed Kane-Toews initial ask of CHI on extension is around $12M/yr each. They'll end up lower but still could be $10M+ AAV players.

Can we stop discussing bringing Iginla back? He's a 3rd line player now at best.

It's a new day and the Letang contract will be shown to be upper end, but not even close to the silly upper end.

Crosby/Malkin have very good deals.

I don't believe stats are every thing, but his from last year speak for themselves. The guy can still play, just not on LW.
