I still think that Stan is going to trade with The Panthers. The.Hawks will get Floridas number 1 pick for Sharp and McNeil. The Hawks will trade the number 1 pick , Leddy Morin and another player from Rockford for Kesler and their 7th pick in the draft. The Hawks will than trade the seventh pick from Vancouver for a quality third line D man ( that can kill penalties and can dish out hits ) and a third line forward that is physical and can kill penalties,

That's a whole lotta trades Spanky...things usually don't go down like that.

Trading Sharp makes the most sense if one takes the long-term approach. I would much rather trade a player before he starts to decline - and Sharp will start to decline within a year or two based on this past years playoff performance and injuries over the past two seasons. He is most likely at his maximum value in the current market this year. Gain young assets for him and hope his scoring can be replaced by either Smith or the acquisition of a veteran free agent

Yes, I was waiting for the Canuck fans to come over here and start tearing down TT so when a deal MAY get done for Kesler and MAY not include TT the excuses for Linden/Benning are already built in...TT just isn't any good anyways, that's why Vancouver didn't want him.

Reminds me of our fans that snicker "Look at the FO pimping the young kids and overhyping them for the Kool-Aid drinkers that suckle on the ONE GOAL campaign" and then throw a fit when Bowman or whoever is the bad guy this week can't flip those "overhyped" young kids for a roster full of 20 Olympians. Just doesn't work both ways.

TT is very overrated. He went in the second half of the first round and has pretty much ZERO experience playing in North America. From what I've heard his skating is suspect as is his play in the defensive zone. I don't think he is enough to build a package around.
- hankthetank

Problem is - like with all prospects - you can see what talent is there, but not how it plays in the Show.

With TT, the talent says he could be a great center for a dozen + years, or a mediocre wing, or anything in between: the raw talent is better than most prospects, the play-out is in doubt.

You pays your money and you takes your chances.

True. But the point is that if I'm Vancouver then you're going to have to package in Saad Shaw or TT to get a deal done. Those would be the Hawks players/prospects I'd want most.

I'm not a huge Leddy fan.

Kesler could really stick it to them if he will only take a deal to the Hawks though.

It's funny how all the main stream media sources are picking up on something JJ reported a long time ago. It makes you wonder, maybe this JJ guy knows what he's doing????

Moving Seabs may have "blown over" among some of the fan base, but the question that matters is...

...has it blown over in the front office?

Yep, a lot of trading but Stan the man has a great rappor with his ex boss. The Panthers have a ton of young players who need a leader and a goal scorer. I am speculating... But would not be surprised if we get the number player in the draft.

I think the Kessler deal does get done and Sharp is used to lower the Cap and maybe for a third line Center like Eller
Solidifies the Center position and then the Rockford group fill in the easier to fill vacant wing position depending on who goes to Vancouver

Don't see the Hawks the hated group in Vancouver they were back in 2011

- PEIHawkFan

Many Canucks fans have grown to respect what the Blackhawks have done and want their team rebuilt in a similar manner.

Not really, we could sign Kane next year because he wants to play with Kesler, plus he likes the bars here.

>JJ, Al -- Is it possible Sharp goes for a combination of 2014 and 2015 picks?
>With 2015 being a much stronger draft, would think those picks are much more valued
>Hawks then flip some combination of '14 & "15 picks and 1 or 2 prospects to Van for Kesler
>Sharp's value is likely as high as it will get and Hawks are not currently "under the gun" to move him -- which allows them to pass on underwhelming offers
>But next year's cap is looming and could be a problem -- which means waiting until then will get you less -- unless you can dump salaries equal or more than Sharp's from "lesser" players

- SnapitUpstairs

I have Tweeted and posted most of what I feel is accurate...

Canucks want a low 1st round pick..NYI have been rumored with Ducks.

A lot variables...Ducks have the best package so far but sometimes the best package doesn't win.

I have a gut feeling Pit or someone else from the East will be heard from.
Anyone with picks from 1-5 could be willing to deal...

Glad to see your back. It's much easier for us "Metrosexuals" now that JJ has come out. And really what can be sexier to a woman than a male hockey fan whose read "Color Me Beautiful"?

Al - assume it isn't going to be Kesler, Spaezza, Stastny, or anyone of that ilk (and I am assuming that).

What the next best "second tier" solution for 2C? (And your answer could include Shaw, although mine wouldn't).

I'll hang up and listen for my answer.

Al,

Do you feel that there are many eastern conference teams not on his no trade list? I could/probably be wrong, but I thought one of the first parameters were a western conference team?

I am so against that. Trading your #1 goal scorer on a Stanley Cup contending team for youth is an absolutely horrible idea.

Sharp needs to stay a Blackhawk

- Mo_Dangles

If it's two separate deals and Kesler comes here in one and Sharp goes the other way in another, what are you losing?

I like Sharp but he's a bit older than Kesler, we need a center. If they can get Kesler and McClement for 4C sign me up depending on what goes the other way for Kesler; obviously not Saad.

Can you imagine the mismatches this presents for other teams with Toews 1C and Kesler 2C.

I'd like to not see TT in the deal but he fell in our laps in the draft and you can flip him for a guy who potentially helps you win now, do it!

As TC said earlier too, Sharp could be flipped for youth to make up for the loss of TT or whomever.
