Doing my best to temper the flaming erections that people have for Kesler.

Wait. That doesn't look right.

I want him. Perfect 2C for this team.
- Hawks82

He really isn't but everyone seems to think so. Again I ask. What did he and Kane produce during the Olympics?

He put up his best numbers playing wing.

It created a barbecue flavor which the ladies seemed to enjoy.
It's now known as pulled pork.

Lest we forget..,,,we lost in game 7 in freaking OT. Let's not trade away everything to get get a C. I know we need to get better in that position. But it's not worth trading away players that will get you over the "hump" to the Confrence finals for 1 player that might not or might get you over that next hump.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Kesler?
- Elbows15

I want a legit #2 center with a strong 2way game

I would rather have a team that can roll 4 lines with speed and a touch of grit.

You mean at best - won't get that if they try to trade the rights - better to let him go to FA.
- StLBravesFan

No, that's the floor, the worst. The best is to trade it for something better.

I'm not sure I can take a whole lot from a 12 game Olympic sample size. He was .5 PPG player over that span.

Given some of the players he has signed or traded for, I rather not.

Totally agree, but a 2c who's not a corpse on skates would be delightful

(frank)ing Shaw, the guy most seem to want to get rid of had almost the exact production as Kesler playing 3rd line minutes. And what exactly did Kesler and Kane produce in the Olympics? Not much.
- Elbows15

Who wants to get rid of Shaw?

Kesler /Spaezza/Thornton wouldn't get my first choice of a solution, but I'm not sure there's been much of consensus to get rid of Shaw.

And in the past Olympics they produced a total of 6 points together. And did squat against Canada and Finland together.

He is pretty much a career even player aside from his one magical season. Troy Murray had one, too.

He is a me first player. A guy who had a letter removed from him. He just isn't that good.

I had the thought if the Hawks had signed D. Moore instead of resigning Handzus. what would have the results been? They made the same money this season.

I agree with this but the lack of quality centers on this team right now bothers me and others. If we can get the 2C and keep or fill in 3and 4 with what we have are we not stronger with shaw and krugs on 3L and 4L, with a real 2C. Clearly sharp is not a center post 2010, so that leaves who

Why would anyone give you something better?

What do rights to any UFA go for - 5/6/7 round picks?

Kid's a UFA (with limited salary rights) in six weeks.

Yes and I why I am 180 degrees different on my opinion of Sharp today then I was 2 weeks ago.

Patrick Sharp's pesona is NOT who he really is....not by a mile. So while everyone can sit here and blast Kesler for being a me guy, you will see why the Hawks are trading him.

Now, the other side of the coin to this is the Canadian clique. Guys like 7,2,19 and god knows who else. If you read Keith's quotes from Vegas he mentions without being prompted about trades and a core guy going, and then talking about how tight he is with Sharp? Why? Why Now? Unless he knows Sharp is being pushed hard...

- SteveRain

I commend you on how you have handled this issue.

I also heard from a Phily source a few years ago that one of the reasons he was dealt was because of a less than honorable relationship that ended badly with Bobby Clarks daughter. The GM at that time.

Not sure about full details, but what is important is that my guy had first hand knowledge that Sharpy was a dirtbag.

BTW, heard that after Sharp punched Kane in the face, Everyone present was shocked by the fact Sharp did not hit him square in the chest, like he typically does when he shoots.
