Where did the rumor originate that if Stastny hit UFA he was a done deal to the Hawks?
- NewToHockey

It was a local source (to the Avs) said that it came from the Stastny camp and mentioned something about the Quennville relationship.

Did not say "done deal"... more like "don't be surprised if".

You don't think the Canucks would do the rights to Hayes, Leddy the rights to morin & a pick?
- 2_8sRBettrThen1

Two players who have limited/to zero time in the NHL, a young defenseman with some warts and a pick for one of the better centers in the game? Yeah. No. They won't do that.

If Sharp's still here in October, I'm done with this team. (frank)ing useless pile of human refuse.

For some reason you saying this sounds familiar....

The rights to Hayes have almost no value...they're negotiating rights that expire on Aug 15.

And Morin is a Hawk so by definition we have his rights. He's a pending RFA and the Hawks will certainly tender an offer, at that point he could be dealt. This will happen on July 1 I presume.

You realize Kesler is going to be 30 years old correct, he's not going to fetch a Tyler Seguin-like package.

What value does the right to Hayes have?

And what experience does TT have in the nhl, 3 games? I understand he's got tremendous upside, but isn't Hayes like the 3rd best player in the hawks system? Couldn't they sign and trade Hayes? And throw In Bick then, Bick leddy Hayes pick for kesler.

Did you guys see what Eklund posted a couple of hours ago?

"I am hearing the Bruins are listening to offers for Loui Eriksson. Hearing Colorado, Chicago and Anaheim top the list. I will be updating him along with others this evening on the trade rumor chart.

*It sounds like we will be seeing a Spezza trade and a Kesler trade over the next 72 hours... nothing is definite, but among the many people I have talked to in the city as they arrive, that is the general consensus... Spezza and Chicago or Anaheim is being discussed, and Kesler is being discussed with the Leafs, Chicago, and Washington."

Hayes isn't in the Hawks system.

Why would Hayes sign and then get traded to a team of the Hawks choosing, when in two months he could sign for the best offer for him?

If he wanted to go to Van - and they wanted him - in two months....

Hayes is a UFA in about 3 weeks. No value. I'm pretty sure that Q's handling of Leddy the past two springs has done no favors for his value either. Bickell might be worth more if either he were younger or he had shown better this past regular season, but at $4M per for an "if at best" regular season player? The Canucks are a team looking to make the playoffs, not a team that can afford regular season baggage they hope will come up big in the postseason knowing they will make the dance.

I know this isn't the 27 year old who just won a Selke we're talking about any more, but I think you would need to give up more than that.

At this point I don't see any reason Hayes would want to sign with the Hawks before Aug. 15th. He's stuck to an entry level contract before then, but he's not after that date, right? Isn't that the loophole Schulz and the kid dman with the Wings exploited? The next CBA needs to change that.

I saw that. Did he get the teams backwards on the two rumors?

Just to recap:

-Stan Bowman isn't going to trade Patrick Sharp.
-Stan Bowman is interested in Ryan Kesler, but won't budge on Teravainen.

I get the feeling we'll be seeing #91 Brad Richards on the 2nd line next season.

It was tweeted and mentioned earlier that the Isles were interested in him. Garth Snow sounds like the perfect sucker to hand him a multi-year deal.
