670, the SCORE, in their updates are now mentioning Sharp being on the trade block. Tells me he is likely traded for sure. - hawks2010
They just caught up with John blog from the day after we lost the WCF

Don't get the love affair with TT as apart from one decent WJC showing, he hasn't shown much else. Not to mention the fact that he is extremely inexperienced at playing the North American game.
? - Whiskey-Tango
Then why is he so critical to acquiring Kesler? |

TT is very overrated. He went in the second half of the first round and has pretty much ZERO experience playing in North America. From what I've heard his skating is suspect as is his play in the defensive zone. I don't think he is enough to build a package around. |

It's a tough call, but I would take Shaw because we know what we have. A gritty, versatile forward who can play anywhere in the middle 6 and on the PP. With Teravainen we don't know what he have, the could be Kane-lite or Skille-lite for all we know. - DarthKane
I still refuse to completely deny him the possibility of becoming a viable NHL center. Way too early to make that call. |

Lebrun:
The one thing Kesler can’t dictate, however, is forcing the Vancouver Canucks to trade him. Unless and until either Anaheim or Chicago presents a package that the Canucks believe is worthy, they won’t move him, one source said. These things can change with one single conversation, but as of Tuesday afternoon, no trade for Kesler was imminent.
http://espn.go.com/blog/n...ading-the-pack-for-kesler
No Saad (obviously) no TT = No deal.
And no we don't need/want sharp.
The Ducks are going to get him, then eliminate you boys come next playoffs... - Whiskey-Tango
Or Kesler has the opportunity to stick it to Vancouver 6 times a year not counting playoffs. Either way...

The fact is, he has two years remaining. If we don't receive an offer that makes us better in both the short and long term we just don't deal him.
As simple as that. - Whiskey-Tango
That would absolutely wreck your locker room and whole point of rebuilding/retooling. You'd have 2 more years of Luongo drama. Good luck with that. |

From what I saw of Teuvo in the last two weeks he spent in Rockford told me the exact opposite. |

Yeah I don't really want to lose shaw. I'm sure TT will end up with a hell of a lot more career points but intangibles are important on a winning team. We do have more replacements for shaw than TT, though, but I really hope we don't trade shaw |

Spezza>Kesler
I could see Chi wanting him, but in no way does Kesler make sense for the Ducks. They need a 2C and Cogliano is good, but Spezza is a major upgrade. If you want him give us nice package, something like Smith-Pelly, and our 1st? |
|
|
|
If the Canucks deal him to the Ducks, they are much more unwise than I first thought. - CaptainBlackhawk
This was my thought
Ultimately I think ANA sends Kesler to CHI on a lesser return to avoid sending him within division. All things being equal, a better return from ANA is neutralized by seeing Kesler pound your teams shxt in for the next 2 years |

In my opinion, the return for Sharp is paramount in the success of this off season, if things play out the way the smoke signals would have us believe.
If this shakes out to moving Leddy, Sharp, and Teuvo + for Kesler and some middling returns for Sharp, its a big-picture loss in my eyes. - FredoXV
THIS trading sharp is a horrible mistake if the goal is to obtain Kesler not even close to worth it.
Although if Sharp is to be traded I got dibs on betting Seabrook gets his "A" |

Sharp was a great Hawk and a huge part of 2 Cups. He is still really good. But I will be disappointed if he isn't traded this summer and mainly at the draft. I really think it could be a solid move for now And the future |

2 weeks? 5 games? Great sample size.
He's done nothing in North America. He's a decent prospect, but I don't think he's good enough to build a package for Kesler around. |

Because he is the ONLY somewhat decent asset CHI is rumored to be willing to offer, and yet JJ shuts that down too.
We don't need Sharp, or Leddy or a late first or anymore second rate prospects.
I just don't see what you guys have to offer |

Most notably the playoffs?

Been watching TT since the Hawks drafted him...his skating is fine...he isn't a speed demon or anything, but he has a quick first step, stop and go is very good, and can make very sharp quick turns with ease..his skating is nothing to be worried about...his defense is solid, not spectacular..his hands are great, passing is very good, and has a nice shot...he is a light weight, and who knows if he will be able to adjust to the quicker game in the NHL, those are his biggest issues...for him to be a good NHL player he just has to be right between the ears, the physical attributes are all there, well except the size, but you can be a good NHLer even without the size |

Silly .
Kesler gets a bad wrap in Canada because he said he 'Hates them" when referring to Team Canada.
Keslerhas all the offensive ability that Spezza has plus is superior on D .
It just makes too much sense to me that :
Kesler Blackhawks
Spezza Ducks

I think the Hawks are in the driver seat here, and I think they know it. Vancouver doesn't want to trade with either team, but their hands are tied here with the NTC and Kesler's demand of a trade. The Canucks don't want to trade Kesler to Anaheim, making another tough team in their division even tougher. They also don't want to tick off their fanbase with a trade with the "hated" Blackhawks. - hawks2010
Time for Kesler to take "ONE LAST DIVE" in Van.
and say I like SUPERMAN not Ana. |

I'm assuming that moving Sharp and his 5.9M cap hit is going to happen regardless of the Kesler situation...
...the end result will be more depth at the center position, the only question is who fills 2C.
Interesting times... |
