No.

I think (just my opinion):

The Hawks make decisions as a group, slower to move, slower to even formulate an offer.

There are differing opinions within that group over the value of given assets.

Bowman loves the prospects to a fault. Q, not so much. Haha.

Could be they see him as Hossa 2.0. If so, he better put on 40 pounds of muscle, get smarter, be tough as nails, then . . . maybe.

Thanks for the reply.

15 years at 12 million/season!

No, that's Luongo crazy.

The 8 year term limit will likely have a impact on the annual dollar amount though.

Length is a little long, but a solid deal for Gaborik.

LA bringing back damn near their entire team......

Your move, Stanley.

Wait until July 1st. Shallow UFA pool and rising cap. It's going to be an all out disaster.

GD noooooooo Spezza. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
- z1990z

no doubt spezza isn't as good as kesler in the defensive zone, but his offense is twice as good.

on a team like chicago, with a linemate like kane, he could be ppg player and turn kane into a 50 goal scorer.

LA's a pretty smart team so the term confuses me. Even with the cap projected to rise in the future, 7 years for a 32 year old with an injury history is a disaster waiting to happen.

Mike Brophy ‏@HockeyBroph 3m

So $4.9 million is second-line money now. Bobby Orr would be paid a trillion dollars a year if he played today

That´s kind of funny but he has been through much harder times than making a decision about a trade. Not that I want sound any humourless but that´s what I am so..

I'm going t say this now...

If your "offseason" is

1. Signing 19/88 to extensions.
2. Popping 86 into 2c
3 Signing Morin, Smith, and Raanta
4. Signing Dominic Moore or a UFA veteran 4th line center.

I consider it a failure. My opinion, but you aren't winning a cup with 86 at 2c.

It's about the next 4-5 years really. Deal with the back end when the time comes. Hell there will probably be a new round of compliance buyouts by then.

I can feel you but the team in october doesn´t have to be exactly the same when playoffs starts.

+ Carter having a history of foot problems which isnt a great thing for a big man and Quick has a bionic back.

Oh well. 5 million is still pretty reasonable dollar wise for a player of that calibre

Plus with the way Brown plays and the term left on his deal, I think he could decline in 2-3 years. Richards already looks like he's lost half a step.

But they have 2 cups and will be back contending again next year so some issues down the road is meaningless.
