I have zero qualms with including TT in this trade. - furso27
Either do I.
Even if he adds 20 lbs, which would be stretch, how is this kid going to center against a Carter or Kopitar or Getzlaf or Backes in the spring? Unless he has some magical spinach like Kruger does...
Point is, he's not a NHL center. he's a RW and you have 2, HOFs Rws on your team....and 1 is entering his prime, and the other is a freak of nature who hasn't shown enough to be concerned he'll be a 3rd line Mike Modano any time soon.

Here's the other dangerous idea....
You take Sharp and deal him to the EAST, get back another young proven NHL player with a decent cap hit and some picks and or prospects.
You take said young player and package him with Leddy and then you can keep your beloved Teuvo.
Again, that is a HUGE risk unless you know Vancouver will take that young player.
Huge 56 hours for this organization......I hope they keep One Goal in mind. - SteveRain
OR Stan can finally just throw in Teuvo and get Tanev back..

Every player wants to play in a Canadian market once. Jagr has made it known he would like Montreal just to experience the experience. But for most players they get ground down. Spezza and Kesler being the most recent. - spatso
Ahh, I experienced that experience many times, not as a player. or as a "playa." But . . . Rue St. Paul, Rue McGill, Rue Rene Levesque, Maudite', Trois Pistoles, Super Tuscans, etc . . . |

IMO TT's upside is no higher than Nylander's and he could fall down to that 10 spot in the draft. - golfingsince
All I have read is that the draft is weak...So Benning will want HIGHLY regarded prospects IF he trades Kesler. It only makes sense.
I don't blame him. |

I don't believe Saad & TT are ''untouchable''. Why is everyone thinking that Kesler is the only asset that will be included in this deal? What we do know is Kes will go to the highest bidder, and there are probably more than 3 teams in on this now. The Canucks have told their season ticket holders they can have a refund after July 10th if they are not happy with the direction of the team. Benning & Co can ill afford to mess this deal up. If the team doesn't get the assets it needs he simply doesn't get moved and everyone can move on to their second option, it's that simple. As you were. |

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Score, but Berstein is just an actor. His mood depends on the partner of the day. With Rosner he's chill, but with Boers he likes to stir the pot, and play the contrarian role aka Marriotti. Ratings equals money. I enjoy Mully and Hanley though, and do like Rosner. - howiehandles
Bernstein is a f(u)cking idiot and so is his @$$wipe partner. The ONLY reason I'll tune in is when Rozner is on, like you mentioned. 1pm on I switch to ESPN. I have to.
Love Danny Mac, even with all his ills, Spiegel is OK, and Mully/Hanley are easy listening. Those other j@gs can just drop off the face of the earth for all I care. I'd LOVE to hear Rozner with a regular (daily) gig. |

Bernstein is a douche. He's clueless about hockey and I cringe whenever he attempts to talk about it. |

There are quality players in the top round and maybe parts of the 2nd. There is just no consensus #1, or locks to become a franchise player like last year or next year. There are questions about people's games, just like there are questions about TT's.
Nylander's upside is amazing, quite possibly the highest in the draft. The questions surrounding his game are defensive and wether or not he uses his teammates effectively. |

That just means the PR machine is doing its job Steve. That's all. If the Nux believe it and the 'Hawks can keep TT while still acquiring Kesler, it's all the better. If not, and the Kesler deal includes TT, fine too, at least by me. But we all know a Kesler deal is likely only one needed move. I highly doubt many players from each team are involved in a Kesler deal.
56 hours 'til the draft! - blackhawk24

This is an important point that MANY ready to pencil TT in have not considered.
Is he ultimately a C or RW in the NHL? If he's a RW, where does he play? Not on the lower 2 lines. And this is a team that is STACKED on both wings: Kane, Hossa, Saad, Sharp (for now at least), Bickell, with guys like McNeill, Morin, possibly Danault, Hartman or Nordstrom (if they can't play C) on the way.
TT is a nice prospect. Very questionable how nice, at what position, and who he would replace on the current roster. |

I'm having a REAL hard time here understanding why people refuse to include TT in a trade for Kesler. I saw some idiot responded on Scott Powers tweet that nhl will be taken hostage when he arrives. Dear god man, slap yourself.
Will TT be good? Who the hell knows. Will he be better then Saad? I don't think so and I would hope 99.9% of people here would keep Saad over Teuvo. And then you look at Saad....hes coming into his own but he's not a STAR yet. For all the hype this Teuvo kid gets, what has he done? IF he were that good...wouldn't the Hawks have kept him on the roster? Wouldn't this kid have NOT been sent home from his world team? Wouldn't he have made some impact in 3 games? When we saw 19/88 in 2007/08 you knew these kids would be damn good. I don't see that in Teuvo. Not superstar status, a solid NHL player? Maybe....but are you really going to wait on that and miss out on a HUGE chance to give yourself arguably the best 1-3 punch at center in regards to defense, and 2 top centers in regards to offense? All for what COULD BE?
I thought this organization had ONE goal, and that this farm system is so loaded it's bursting...so is Teuvo really going to haunt you and break you? NO, NO he isn't.
Package the kid. TODAY. Get the deal done and give yourself 48 hours to drive the price for Sharp up....Sign a veteran 4th line center. Move Shaw and Smith to Wings. Sign or get back a cheap, large bruising F who can play in the playoffs and you can roll 4 lines.
If they miss out on Kesler because of Teuvo this kid better not only make this team out of camp, he better put up 60+ points and be in contention for the calder to justify the blatant stupidity of playing a dangerous game of chicken. - SteveRain
Yes of course but Leddy+TT+1st´14 is way overpayment for Kesler who probably will be only two year rental player. You have to look at cap situation too. Teräväinen at ~0,9 caphit for the next three seasons could be a good asset to have. But if Hawks think the window is open just for next two seasons then they should do it asap. I strongly believe they think otherwise. |

So Canuck STH's have some direct leverage on who they deal Kesler for? If that's the case, your franchise is doomed.
Because . . . based on what I've seen here and elsewhere, most Canuck fans don't want to deal with Chicago because they're still stuck in a 2011 mindset. Emerson Etem is the next Pavel Bure etc.
Benning and Linden should get the best deal period in terms of young players or near-ready prospects. Trust their judgement, not the fans'.

I believe Saad is untouchable, but Teravainen could be dealt for the right price. You don't give away prospects like Teravainen for nothing, but I definitely think he's available. |

I've got an unusual indicator on TT's upside in the NHL. When he came to town and they asked Q about him, Q sort of smiled like he knew something everyone else didn't know about the kid. It didn't look to me like he was faking it. I think they Hawks really, really, do like the kid and have a very good idea where they want him in their lineup.
For me, I would trade him because Kesler is the bird in the hand and TT is still in the bush. But I don't think they'll do it. They like him. |

Exactly and that's my whole point.....If your prospects sucked outside of Teuvo...fine....get it....but you have a LOT of prospects so again.....what is the hold up?
We aren't talking Gretzky here. We aren't talking Forsberg here.....What are we talking with Teuvo? At best WAY DOWN the road a Sedin? If that were the case, why did he fall to the Hawks? |

If not, that's a sure fire way to get FUBAR. As an executive in sports, if you listen to the fans, you will soon be sitting with them. |

Yeah If this rumor was true you would have to pull the trigger. Losing TT might hurt. I think he will have a very good career, but the key to a kesler deal to me is trading Sharp. Of course if they retain a bunch of Kesler's contract they might not need to trade sharp. But they would trade him and get back a very good young player or players. - tomcat24
Yea it should be interesting to see how this all shakes out. Probably everyone doing nothing |

Uh Ya??? The fans got Gillis fired if you recall. Ownership is very concerned about public perception. I don't think the fans have the mindset you suggest. I live in Duncan Keith’s hometown, last summer he praised the Sedin's, the man is a class act. There are lots of Chicago fans in BC my friend; the 2011 mindset simply does not exist. Give Van what they want for Kes, you will forget about them after you win the cup next year! |

Agree. Isn't that the point of the farm? Creating prospects we can use, but also hyping them up? I don't buy TT being the next star. Good player, yeah. Really good player, maybe. We know what Kesler brings, and he brings what we need. I won't give up Saad for him, and don't want to give up Shaw for him either. |
