I was calling for Jay McClement in the summer of 2012.

I think he was hoping for a different outcome and a bigger role on the Leafs but as they normally do, they messed up his time there. Even though his hometown is up the 401 from Toronto, I'm sure he's ready to move on.

I'm down as Jay M. as a 4th line C at a decent price tag.

JMcC is a perfect fit for the Hawks as a 4th line center. Excellent defensive center, faceoff and PK guy, really knows how to play in his own end. Just don't move him up a notch and expect any offence out of him - 10 points in a season is a big year for him.

Shots from the point are all about getting them thru to the net with a screen set up (like Shaw does). Keeping them low is preferable whether they are slappers or wrist shots. Overall the Hawks do a very good job of that which is why their defenceman have as many points as they do.

Are the dman points achieved by shots from the points or do they collect most of them from breakout and stretch passes.

I don't think they get enough thru - especially on the PP - too many into shin pads - but I have no numbers to back that up - and I'm at O'Hare waiting for a plane to El Paso so I can be in Juarez tomorrow and I'm to tired to deal with it.

Trade Sharp for prospects and picks. Trade said prospects and picks for Spezza. If you have to, settle for Kesler. No need to include TT, Shaw or even Leddy in any deal for a 2C if you get a good return for Sharp. Vancouver fans don't seem like to like TT anyways so give them another team's prospects and picks and we roll the dice on him.

But what I think is happening is this :


I think the HAwks have a deal in place for Kesler , I think the Hawks are verifying with the league on the order as which the Kesler and the Sharp deals have to be made so that the Hawks stay cap compliant throughout this process. The Blackhawk front office is very detailed. I am sure the Canucks and whoever is getting Sharp is happy to wait an extra day . I think The Hawks , Canucks and Sharps new team will all be happy with the deals they made. This wont be a 3 way deal but two different trades ,

We have to be somewhat realistic when making these proposals..


The Canucks are not in the best position to deal Kesler but he is valuable , even if he wants to join the Blackhawks the Hawks just cant give the Nucks Shaw straight up . There has to be some dealing .

The Hawks have to clear Sharp's $. Patrick Sharp is a world class 1st line player ..with a limited NTC . He loves Dale Tallon and Florida better make the playoffs in the weak East next year or people will be fired. Plus if Florida can get Sharp then Campbell might stay .

The Canucks are going into full rebuild mode. Nothing Better than a real #1 pick , their own #1 pick , a young puck moving defenseman and a forward prospect .

The Blackhawks get Kesler and get to keep TT
