Was watching NHL network tonight, mike Johnson and craig button both commented on sharp trade rumors and pretty much said that Chicago would be pretty much crazy to trade a top end scorer like sharp unless it meant they could not sign Toews or Kane. They went through what he has contributed to the hawks and noted that any deal the hawks would make on sharp would pretty much be a loss except for salary cap room. Just telling you what I saw...
- Omahawk

Not directed at you, and they are welcome to their opinion, but I think they are missing the point a bit. If Sharp is traded and either his trade or another because of the cap room his created nets the Hawks a 2C, it's a win.

They save that for the knockout round.

Also, never seen Suarez play, huh?

Exactly. When did Sharp become our version (and those traders from other teams that seem to stop by and overvalue whomever we are talking about at the time) of
SCOTT GOMEZ? Seriously?

He would more in return than just Kesler.

And if McD had the power a lot of people here give him, Sharp is his 3rd most marketable commodity behind Toews and Kane. No way Sharp would be traded based on that. Marketing wise, Seabrook and Crawford would be the first on the block since we don't want to put our future in another teams hands (Keith and Hossa).

I literally just watched the NHL Tonight segment on the Hawks. Both talking heads basically said Sharp has a ton of value throughout the league and the Kane & Toews extensions will play a big factor in who gets dealt.

They made very good points on NHL network and referenced that he scored 2 goals against the kings in game 7. If you want to go back farther, he also scored shorthanded in game 6 against the flyers to tie that game at 2-2 in game 6 in 2010. It was a huge/critical goal, I am not sure I understand the constant drumbeat of trade sharp. Find an affordable second line center and go from here to the march trading deadline. If their are obvious problems then, Stan and company will plug them.

Correct.....ideally you find a cheap solution who can win face offs.....play on special teams....and dish to the Hawks strengths....their forwards.

If they trade Sharp they better get a high return.....or I'm fine with keeping him
