Sorry, too, but I have never liked unsubstantiated accusations, or vague accusations.

I enjoy reading your posts - I appreciate your knowledge and opinions - we will just have to disagree about the value and propriety of your messages about Sharp's locker room distractions.

- StLBravesFan

Understood and I'm sure I'd be the same way. No offense taken.

It'll break at some point. Loose lips sink ships. If he gets dealt I'll bet it's out within 48 hours.

I don't know that I buy the Sharp locker-room distraction thing. I think he had a bad spring and that raised questions. Like, for example, Toews goes 4 games without scoring a goal and everyone on here assumes he is nursing an injury (usually shoulder).

Sharp's poor postseason could be attributed to the fact that he knows his time here could be coming to a close? Think back to last year, Bolland knew it. Listening to him on the ice after they won the Cup, you could almost tell he knew and was soaking it in. Maybe Sharp sees the writing on the wall with the cap, his age, etc.

Not even close. Sorry. Not to pick on you, but hockey is and has been FULL of guys who are very productive in their late 30s and even early 40s. To wit, recently:

Hossa
Selanne
Jagr
Larionov
Fedorov
Datsyuk
Francis
Messier

Long, long list

Are we really going to restart the ridiculous Tallon vs Bowman argument again??? Happens every off season I guess......The first cup was built by Tallon and MIKE SMITH.....and there are plenty of draft choices and player signings(Huet) that show he wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread....Mike Smith's picks such as Keith, Seabrook, Buff, and Burish had just as much impact as Tallon picking Kane & Toews.....plus Tallon gave out money like candy and couldn't understand how to use a calculator.....what has he done in Florida???? Zilch....one play off appearance.....

Bowman had to purge a roster of great and solid NHL players.....and in three years was able to win the cup....again

Remember Tallon wanted Havlat over Hossa....and only 4 players from the Tallon picked core (Hammer,Toews, Kane, & Sharp) played on both teams...

Lets get with facts before we start spewing what has not actually happened......

He is under contract for two more years . Vancouver holds one very big option.

He would look nice playing with Burrows and Jensen.

- VANTEL

Until he holds out and has a hissy fit. If you don't move kesler expect a situation worse than luongo. The Hawks know this and can probably get a better deal out of it than what you expect in return.

*yawn* What's up fellas?

Hawks will not get Kesler.

Sharp has gone from a revered leader to a locker room cancer in a month?

Trading Shaw would be a mistake.

If Sharp is moved, the team that makes the most sense is Montreal. imo.

The reason the Hawks lost to LA is pretty simple. Special teams were huge factor.

And oh my. trolls for everyone.

- Elbows15

Montreal would be fine with me, as long as it is eller. I still wonder if florida or buffalo would work? Did anybody ever figure out what kind of clause he has? Is it one like spezza where he has a list of teams he doesn't want to go to? Or a full no-trade clause where he can veto any deal?

concerning Sharp, a good player but he did not bring it this year (especially in the playoffs). For whatever reason. He is also little too streaky.

Looking closer, Sharp and Kane don't kill penalties and should be the freshest and most dangerous players on the ice. I do get tired of Sharp's shot into the crest of the goalie. At least he picked up a move for the shootout this year.

Everyone is forgetting the elephant in the room. If you don't bring in someone that #88 wants to play with, like it or not, you run the risk of him ending up in Buffalo next season.

The easiest way to get a long term commitment, and probably a home town discount, from #88 is to bring in #17 from the Canucks. Without that, Kane either gets full boat money and then you really have cap issues or possibly ends up an ex-IndianHead.

- DMCsPulledHammy

His contract ends after next season. If we trade him, i think we could get quite a bit back for him too. If any player hostages his contract, good organizations will trade that player, not submit to his demands. One player is not greater than the team, even though he is a great player. If we trade him for buffalo's top 5 assets i think the hawks might be okay.

Right from the Gillis book of management.

The organization granted him some level of control due to his past performance. He is simply asserting that control. I really doubt he holds out with his pal Linden there.

Pretty easy to guess though - if there is a reasonable package on the table from one of his destinations and it is rejected by Benning - he and his agent will not be happy. Do the Nucks need that again? Aren't Benning and Linden trying to change the culture and perception (from the outside) up there? If not, they should be.

- tredbrta

Not up to Kesler to decide what a reasonable offer is. The point is an NTC is an agreement between a club and a player that they are committed to each other for the length of the contract. It provides stability for both. If all of a sudden the player decides to essentially break that commitment, then why should the team respect the player's wishes. The player is saying, I don't want to play for you any more and I'm going to tell you where I want to play. Call it a Gillis move if you want, but there is no need to submit to this player's demands. You don't go where we want to send you, then you don't play.

Yeah that is the trade a lot of fans have brought up. I guess I can live with it even though kesler isn't my #1 choice. Then we can trade sharp for a good young player or 2 in a package

That's why you tell Kes, you open up your list or you stay home. Hey, we just spent something like $20 million for people not to work for this organization, what's another $5 million.

Don't laugh. I'll bet $$ there are more then one person who is affliated, covers/writes for/about the Hawks or is a general employee on this blog. They were on the dh. Positive word or mouth spurs all hate.

He had his best season ever point wise.

And if shooting into the crest bugs you, check out Hossa's shooting percentage for the playoffs. Only one person has ever been worse.

And was a minus for the playoffs for what's that is worth. Considering who he plays with, its has some value.

Buffalo has nothing of value for Sharp. Aside from draft picks. And why would they give any up? Florida? Unless its Bjustad, there is nothing of value they have that I could see them moving.

Sharp for Eller is a bad trade for the Hawks. Leddy would be enough to get him.

Beaulieu fits the Hawks better than Tinordi, imo.
