I have a glimmer of hope for Shaw at 2C - more than a glimmer - although I think he's really a wing, and best on the third line.
My problem is another season looking at a hope and a prayer to solve 2C - and I would rather have a more known commodity there - don't want to rely on an unproven for an important top-6 spot. - StLBravesFan
I agree I don't think the Hawks should expect TT to take over the 2C next season. I think he needs more time in Rockford and he needs to put on some weight. |

Nope I'm good.
Do you need help in knowing it takes an effort in all the games in a 7 game series?
Blaming the refs in 1 or 2 games just makes you sound bitter. How about blame the hawks for not putting up the timely goals or maybe blame Crawford for not saving the "offsides" goal
FYI. Hawks ended with more PP time (couldn't capitalize) but keep thinking the refs lost the games for the hawks if it helps you sleep at night.
Let's get back to the topic on hand here and stop living in an uncontrollable past.
 - LA_Kings6720
Nice rant. Now show me where I specifically blamed the refs and not your interpretation of my post.
And here is a shock to you. Did you ever consider that the Hawks had more PP time because the Kings committed more penalties. Shocking, I know. |

I don't mind them backing out of the Kesler/Spaezza tournament - but I would they're still looking for one - or two - centers out of this summer season. - StLBravesFan
Same here Sage!
If you have Kane and Saad on a line you don't need an offensive all star at 2C, just someone with some skill and is responsible defensively. Am on board with some of the suggestions here like Nielsen, Eller, Anisimov.
As you mention a true 3 or 4C would be nice too.
They may have to give up Sharp in a deal to get a 2C but I don't think it's ideal to have 4 high priced fwds and only one that's a center. |

Bowman won't trade Sharp, he's part of the core. |

Sure thing Peter...switching to a different medium...no Kane for you!
How does the Hawks solving their 2C problem mean Kane ends up in LA? Connect some dots.
Don't need to jettison Kane to get one of those; probably Sharp though which would be ok. - HawkintheD
Relax guy. I said the same thing w/parise. I doubt it'll ever happen. It makes sense due to the fact LA has established centers, and I just don't think both Toews and Kane both sign. IMO
I won't be hurt if they do though because it is expected out of many people that both are signed and if Kane doesn't resign I don't expect him to be with LA not in a million years, but me as a fan of course I would jump all over the notion he could be in LA if not signed |

There's a very distinct reason why the Kings had more penalties called than the Hawks.
No one is blaming the refs. The point is very simple, however; They played a huge role in a deciding Game 7 when that should never, remotely, happen.
Cracks me up when folks say things like "Crawford should have stopped the offsides goal". Yup. A two on one that should never have been, when the other guy was clearly offsides. |

Not sure where you got the idea my blood pressure spiked was just looking for you to comment on what one had to do with the other.
Since this is all in fun, what's your proposal for Kane? I'm all ears. |

I agree about having 4 really high-priced forwards with only 1 being a center I also like the idea of eller or anisimov (or schenn or Kadri) |

The board does the "Bowman has no stones" cheer every off season.....Most of those who engage in the cheer suffer from short term memory loss.
Remember just a few years ago the love and virtue bestowed upon one Paul holmgren after he traded two key players from the flyers cup challenging team......there were a lot comments comparing him to bowman. ....my personal favorite...."I Wish he was our GM"......funny thing happened after that trade. ....Their coach was fired and the two players he traded...Mike Richards and Jeff Carter have won two cups......just not with flyers. ...who haven't had a sniff of the cup since that trade. So again....The Bowmans know what they're doing and have the recent success proving why we should be confident....they may not make the trades we want but they do the things the hawks need....so until they struggle to make the playoffs, make bad FA signings, and run their team into the ground I will still believe they know the correct path this team needs to be on.....and once again...MCD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOCKEY MOVES...... |

OMG please say it aint so......how ridiculous to try and grind through another season only to fail again in the conference final...if that. Everyone around us is improving and we are going to stand pat? I mean I know its a great core....but its time to bring in some skilled depth. Hossa is not getting any younger and either is Seabrook and Sharp. This is a good year to get a free agent 2LC....TT is not the answer yet...hes not only young and not big enough....he hasn't played North America hockey yet. He needs to learn this game first.
The Kings beat us because they were deep and skilled at center. We need to address that for sure. |

To be precise. Offside is called by the linesmen. The refs have nothing to do with it. So, how could I be blaming the refs, anyway? Unless he doesn't have a basic understanding of the rules. |

Someday maybe I'll get a good understanding of what the linesmen can and can't do as far as penalties go: what can they call, what can't they call.... |

This is a big summer for Stan - what he does or doesn't do.
He will do stuff - may not immediately satisfy some of us, but stuff. JJ says he knows they need center(s) - and bigger one(s) - my guess is he will get a center, at least.
I didn't - and don't - expect Kesler/Spaezza - I would like to see Nielsen or someone similar (maybe bigger) - am willing, in my disappointment, to see what a second line of Shaw-Saad-Kane can do.
It would be unacceptable for the Hawks not to challenge for the a Cup - unacceptable to not go deep into the play-offs next spring.
Stan is in the box to make sure that doesn't happen. |

that source is all over the map. if the puck bounces off leddy and goes in the kings net we arent even talking about this stuff. i agree we need help at center but we dont want to get weak at wing or D to get there. we are dealing from strength, not weakness. we are favored to win next year. can that happen without help up the middle? probably not but we sure dont need to panic. spezza makes 7,000,000. who shoulld we get rid of? we are in the drivers seat. let them come to us. |
