I think it's more like McD over rules trading most guys.
As for playing it safe this off-season, we were one goal away from being in the finals, not much needs to change. Subtracting a close to ppg player in Sharp to bring in a .5 ppg player at center doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense. And it looks like Sharp or Seabrook has to go in a year to fit in the raises to Kane and Toews, assuming Kane will re-sign. So any trade of Sharp for a younger high priced center now probably means Seabrook is gone in a year. - Hemingways
If they find the right center, Saad will bank 30, Kane will push 40 and said center will probably be good for at least 20. |

I don't read your post. You're safe.
Oh..want to have some fun? Go look up Shaw's FO% against the Kings in the playoffs. Maybe you will get a glimmer of hope or something. - Elbows15
I have a glimmer of hope for Shaw at 2C - more than a glimmer - although I think he's really a wing, and best on the third line.
My problem is another season looking at a hope and a prayer to solve 2C - and I would rather have a more known commodity there - don't want to rely on an unproven for an important top-6 spot.

Same old, same old. As long as it results in the 2013 outcome, not the 2014 outcome. Try Leino as #2 center since he played Center before (and has the Wings ties). Sign Moore, and some bottom sizeable bottom 6. Bickell isn't core, so here is hoping (not going to happen).
Idea now is to hold out hope that Leddy is dealt for a younger #2 center ala Eller/Schenn, etc. This is where we sit since the names Spezza, Thornton do not spark a lot of hoorah with fans. Hearing the price for Kesler, it has been my assumption that he will not come to Chicago. Question becomes will a lesser #2 center appease Kane?
Random thoughts after a day in the Florida sun, so pardon me if I ramble. Honestly, not surprised by this, but Stan also said that he would stand pat at the deadline, then traded a 2nd for Rundblad. Who knows what will come - ikeane

Had to completely overhaul over 50% of the roster...he built it. - UnnamedSource
Who did he add?
Handzus, Frolik, Stallberg, Brookbank, Emery, Oduya, Roszival, Saad, Shaw, Leddy.
That's 10 - weren't the rest added by the previous regime?

I see a slight problem.
Hawks don't have a true 2c LA does
Mmmm k. Great... - LA_Kings6720
... and if not for two horrible officiating calls, and a puck that bounced twice before going into the back of the net in OT, we'd have been celebrating in Chicago a few days back. |

And if not for a terrific 10 or so games by Crawford in the prior series, they'd have been gone a couple of weeks earlier. |

Sure thing Peter...switching to a different medium...no Kane for you!
How does the Hawks solving their 2C problem mean Kane ends up in LA? Connect some dots.
Don't need to jettison Kane to get one of those; probably Sharp though which would be ok. |

Shockingly, in the hockey sport I watch goalie is part of the game/team.
The Kings could have said the same exact thing about Quick in the first Cup run.
They got to that point, and almost advanced with Crawford playing (at best) average against the Kings. |

This is also what I'm hoping got the FO's attention and not so much the one bounce away thing. |

The point is very simple...
This team came a bounce away from winning a third Cup. That's all.
Again... this team cannot make big changes. Impossible. Unless you're ok with multiples of Kane/Toews/Saad/Sharp/Seabrook/Keith/Hammer etc. gone.
I love the "get creative" argument. You can't "get creative" without giving up key parts of your team. |

I haven't seen anyone mention Marty Brodeur yet, but he will be available and we all know how much Stan loves washed up goalies. This will give Raanta a full year to work on his game in Rockford and also work on his skating in order to be that 2C we're going to need in the 2015 cup run. |

I don't mind them backing out of the Kesler/Spaezza tournament - but I would they're still looking for one - or two - centers out of this summer season. |

Nope I'm good.
Do you need help in knowing it takes an effort in all the games in a 7 game series?
Blaming the refs in 1 or 2 games just makes you sound bitter. How about blame the hawks for not putting up the timely goals or maybe blame Crawford for not saving the "offsides" goal
FYI. Hawks ended with more PP time (couldn't capitalize) but keep thinking the refs lost the games for the hawks if it helps you sleep at night.
Let's get back to the topic on hand here and stop living in an uncontrollable past.
