Same old, same old. As long as it results in the 2013 outcome, not the 2014 outcome. Try Leino as #2 center since he played Center before (and has the Wings ties). Sign Moore, and some bottom sizeable bottom 6. Bickell isn't core, so here is hoping (not going to happen).

Idea now is to hold out hope that Leddy is dealt for a younger #2 center ala Eller/Schenn, etc. This is where we sit since the names Spezza, Thornton do not spark a lot of hoorah with fans. Hearing the price for Kesler, it has been my assumption that he will not come to Chicago. Question becomes will a lesser #2 center appease Kane?

The Hawks, i doubt, were ever going to make a big move. Our GM is Bowman and the Hawks believe in building through the draft, not trading your young assets for a big contract type of player.

Thanks for the unpopular but easily forseen update JJ. Hopefully this is smoke and mirrors. Like you said, the preium #2 centers are too high proced, but perhaps the Hawks dump non- core "high-cap" players like Roszival, Versteeg, Leddy to get in a younger #2 center. Still 9 days until the draft, and a long summer ahead, plenty of time to trust in Stan

It's possible, but Stan did alude too Shaw possibly being there at his end of the playoffs presser.

I think we're more likely to see "Shaw will be the #2C with Teuvo on the way sometime this season" line this summer.

Bowman: "Kaner, how much do you really want a true #2 center?"

Kane: "I need to play with someone more my speed, you give me that, I sign for 7 years at $8.5 mil a year"

Bowman: "I can give you Ville Leino and 9.5 a year"

Kane: "I guess that is better than Zues and 8.5, we can talk"
