They would certainly have a much better case if their nickname wasn't as historically offensive as N-word, or kike, or wop or something similar. - StLBravesFan

Yes. Cubs trade Samardizja to the Bulls for their 2014 Trade exception, who then turn around and send to Vancouver for Kesler. |

That solves a lot of problems - and gives the Cubs some needed cap space. |

Regin is gone.
Leblanc sucks.
Dannault's not ready.
Rasmussen is an unknown.
Brookbank, it was reported, might be back.
Clendening is not the top D prospect in RFD.
What else you got? - Ogilthorpe2
Is TT an upgrade to Handzus? Is Nordstrom? I think they both are. At some point the Hawks must move kids up to fill the void and allow for 19 / 88 contracts. This is the year. If Brookbamk returns (2.3 million?) you have to go with the kids. Bowman said there would not be any major changes. Starting line up 2014-15
Sadd Towes Kane
Sharp TT Hossa
Bic Shaw Steeg
Bolig Krueger Smith
Kane plays with best 2 way center in the league
TT has Hossa Sharp to learn from as well as 19
Q has guys like Nordstrom, Morin or Rockford standout to sub in or replace as necessary

No, they do not have to change the logo - so since the Blackhawks are named after a military division, it is not the same. - powerenforcer
That's what i always thought but what about the logo? |

It isn't a viable solution mainly because no one knows if TT will be ready to play in the NHL next year. - paulr
My thoughts exactly. Q had like ZERO comfort level with him in a playoff run in April, so he will be during the regular season in October? |

Even if the team name was in honor of Lone Star Dietz then-coach and an American Sioux of then, the Boston Redskins.
I wonder if this could be momentum builder and have an impact on all the major league team names who are in reference to Indian culture.
Even though the 'Hawks name directly came from the 86th Infantry Division of the Great World War, the true background is of the Sauk Nation. The military's name version was the full "Blackhawk" name, unlike McLaughlins' 1926 Black Hawks. That of course until the mid-80's when the name went from Black Hawks to Blackhawks.
Guess we could be happy the Major didn't keep the original team's nickname when it moved from Portland; the rosebuds. |

Going by some fan proposals I've seen by Sharks fans (Thornton and Pavelski), the Hawks and Sharks seem to match up well. |

Not meaning tp pick on you, but . . .
right now, as a C:
Handzus, the guy they just let go because he can't get up and down the ice anymore>>>Teravainen
On defense, draws and physical play, all three pretty much critical to playing center in the NHL. Check back in 2 years when Teravainen might be an NHL 2C.
Teravainen in all likelihood is not remotely ready to nail down 2C with the Hawks next season.
If the Hawks truly want an upgrade at 2C, the answer is not currently a Hawk property. Just a fact.
So Bowman's lowering the expectations bar—at which he and Pops are masterful —has to be taken with a grain of salt. They do this for two reasons. They are less likely to be second-guessed if they don't make a deal (after saying they will), and they look less desperate to other teams. The fact (as I hear it) IS the Hawks are kicking a lot of tires on better NHL centers than TT is today. Or Nordstrom is.
And there's a reason for this. Just a month ago, the Hawks were too weak down the middle to beat LA. So they lose a 55% face-off guy, and two guys who weren't good enough to help at C (or really anywhere) in April are the answer at C in October?
Hello?
IF Bowman is able to do a deal for a 2C or #C, it will cost one of the beloved Hawks from the current roster (though not Toews, Saad, Kane, Seabrook, Keith or Hossa, or Hjalmarsson), or maybe TT himself. Stay tuned. |

Here's the thing, speaking for myself, I have no ties to TT. If he is used to get a player that can help now, that is great in my eyes. In fact, as a fan, I understand that some players will be needed to move in order to keep the team successful, or we will like our team until it is garbage again. |

Center was the reason the Hawks lost but by no means were they dominated by the Kings (Ok maybe at times-2 way street on that one). They battled to the end with what they had. That series was close. Will be watching closely...

If we trade for a real good center that could put us over the top. And not just for next year but for years. |

Anyone can be moved, but do the Blackhawks really want to move Bicks? We're already short on size so I don't see him going anywhere, his cap is is not to bad either. For the most part big guys like Bickell tend to be inconsistent, I don't think he's a cause for concern. |

I´m not going to claim anything but there is a difference between. It´s all guessing game for now but the way Bowman has operated indicates that he will acquire centerman for the lower lines and go from there. Team that starts in october won´t probably be the one heading into playoffs. |

And you'd think he would bounce back a bit after having the summer to get his legs back underneath him. Knee injuries and all.
Plus what he does for 4 mildo is not bad. |

Even though he has size, he doesn't play with size (for the most part). He likes to use his wrist shot much more than he likes to plant himself in the dirty areas. Injury or not, if he can bring back someone who plays big and can better fit this team, do it yesterday. When I see Bickell, I see Daze. A guy who you wish gave you more. |

With Zus being cut loose, that has mean some type of deal is coming. Stan must know he has something or why cut ties with big Zus. Yes Zus is slow and age is apparent, but why take away any depth (even bad depth) unless you had something else coming. Zus (if retained) would be a 5-8 minute guy playing PK only and maybe key D zone draws.. that's it. Its either a deal is imminent, or if it goes to pot some youngster from Rockford is gonna get a whole lot more playin' time. |
