It's official....Nielsen has the 2 DK and US seal of approval...make it happen Stan.
To be honest I don't know enough about Stalman to comment on him either way. My hope is that Oduya isn't dealt. Whatever money you'd give Stralman I'd rather use it to keep Oduya. - DarthKane
Stralman's another Swede and he's 27...loved those hip checks he threw at the Kings in the Finals. Was playing a lot of 2nd pairing minutes it seemed. |

I see your point, I just don't see the Hawks going outside the organization to address that when they're #1 prospect is projected to be a top 6 center. I may be wrong though but like I said I expect them to get a real #3C via trade/UFA and TT will eventually be the #2C. SB's history says he doesn't make those types of drastic moves. Aside from trading Brian Campbell, he really hasn't done anything that would be considered shocking as a GM. I don't see that changing now. - dan9189
Stan doesn't have a history in terms of dealing for necessity, as he does now: he hasn't had to do it before. He's filled in, hoped Rockford would provide a solution, looked to older skaters hoping they have one year left - it worked in 2013, didn't word last year.
Now he HAS to get a center (probably should be 2 centers).
Let's see what he does. |

I really like it as a depth signing to "get bigger" but he hasn't played in 'Merica yet and that is kind of different than Europe. No pedigree (on small ice) but could be a solid addition to the third or 4th line. Speed, boards and cycle should be the focus of the 3rd and 4th lines IMO. - fattybeef
I think it's awfully unfair to peg a kid like Rasmussen into the #2C role, when I doubt he was signed for anything other than a depth move (for now). We hype TT so much and he hasn't proven anything yet and I'm pretty sure TT is more highly regarded than Rasmussen. |

I agree it needs to be addressed but I don't think it was the main reason the Hawks lost to the Kings. Bad team defense and pretty much playing 9 forwards a game rank 1A and 1B on that list. - dan9189
And both your 1A and 1B are very related to 2C - or a lack thereof.
Only 2 centers on the team in the tournament: how does that affect your depth and ability to roll 4 lines instead of 3? How does that affect your team defense?
Dramatically, I propose. |

He has already turned down Ranger's offer of a 3 year deal @$3M per. How much do you want to pay him considering what the Hawks have in their stable of defenceman? |

I always liked Campbell, only thing I didn't like was his cap hit. |

It does. But I hope he ends up in ANA and Stastny stays in COL. Would be nice to see the blues trot Backes out as the 1C option again |

Anyone concerned the Redskins attorneys will try to throw the Blackhawks into this mess following the ruling that the Redskins lost their trademark? |

Interesting. New CBA allows teams to begin discussions with pending UFAs from other teams at 12:01am 6/25. |

I'm sure that was happening before the new CBA came into effect. Now it's just legal... |
