He isn't someone you trade more than 1 asset for. - Elbows15
I don't think Stan would be willing to part with any single asset capable of garnering Neilsen in return...not unless someone or something comes along with Mr. Neilsen. |

He does take a lot of dumb penalties, but he is big on the ice. Not many will go to the front and take a beating while doing a great job. Plus he is huge in the room. Jamal mayers talked about how important he is keeping things loose in the room - tomcat24
Is anyone suggesting the trade him?
He can be just as big in the room as a third line wing (or center, if you wish). |

Hmm. Now you're a Leddy fan? Let me know when he improves in anything. He blows and if he is the top 4 next year, no other deals matter. They won't get past a round. - Elbows15
Not a leddy fan either but you're talking out both sides of your mouth when you make the statement shaw can improve but leddy cant.......I believe neither can or any improvement will be minimal......I do believe and have always stated leddy has value around the league considering his age and speed.... |

What does that have to do with the price of beans?
Toews being below 50% doesn't do anything to make Neilsen's numbers any better. - Ogilthorpe2
The comment I responded to was suggesting that Neilsen couldn't win the important face-offs - ones on the PK. If that comment holds true for Neilsen then it's true for Toews as well. Overall Toews is better on the draw than Neilsen, but there's nothing wrong with Neilsen's face off ability. |

Couple of games - maybe a couple of periods - maybe a couple of shifts - too little? Probably.
For once, I'd like to see them solve a problem with a proven commodity, not a skater either too old or too inexperienced - or a skater not put into that position before.
Deal with the problem with a transaction with a high probably of succeeding: what are the chances the Shaw succeeds at 2C - if it's not 70%, it's too problematic for my tastes - I want a 70% solution for a team that is in Cup contention.
And again - doing nothing at 2C leaves no back-up plan in case it doesn't work - just like last year. - StLBravesFan
Plus, no legit 2C means that if Toews goes down for any significant length of time, you have no one even close to being able to be "next man up". |

I'm sure lots of teams inquire, doesn't mean the Isles are inclined to move him. |

But none of them have a history of trading for Danes with the Islanders like we do. |

If TT is the 2C next year, then they need to move Kane up with Toews , and Hossa with TT.

I agree, but I doubt Q does, and it's still not an ideal solution. Need more size in the top 6 IMO. |

Regular season games:
Shaw - 165 (one full 80 game season)
Saad - 126 (one full 80 game season)
Leddy - 258 (two full 80 game seasons)
I think it logical to assume that all three are young enough and inexperienced enough to still be able to dramatically improve.
Whether they will or not is a different question. |

There is that.
I kinda wish the last one would stick around as a depth guy. IMO, he'd look good as 3/4C or even as the 13th forward. |

Al mentioned Edmonton - how about this -
Bickell, Leddy, Versteeg or Rozsival, Clendening, 2014 first round
for
Gagne, Yakupov, Nurse, and 2015 2nd round.

No thanks. Don't want Gagner, really don't want Yakupov. Nurse should be a great prospect but not worth taking on the other 2. |

They are weak on D, I think they are counting on Nurse to eventually be a cornerstone of their D. He's the only one I'd really want too.
Gagner might be a decent addition if he came cheaply, and I mean really cheaply, but unless he's going to be skating between Saad and Hossa, I'd rather have someone with more size.
Sharp Toews Kane
Saad Gagner Hossa?
I've seen worse top 6 groups, but....
Meh. |

Never said I didn't want him. More like its a guy you don't overpay for. |

I see your EDM offer and counter with this:
Leddy, TT, 1st
for RNH

Islanders are one of my favorite teams outside of the hawks so I've watched plenty.....and you don't have to throw hits to be physical. .......you got me on the 50% at the dot......493% is so horrible.....should I still hammer you for claiming he only had 5 points on the PP last year?.....that was last week......and he is bigger than kruger.... - UnnamedSource
His career is 47%. And he is the same size as Kruger. They both weigh 180 . Look it up.
