i'd say it's the Uruguayans who were dealt the biggest humiliation. no one loses to CONCACAF teams that aren't Mexico or the US at the WC. it just doesn't happen. - DoubleDown
I'm not too familiar with soccer, so I go by the scores. I don't know who is/should be better than who and who's supposed to win it all.
The England/Italia game was pretty good. |

yeah i think England-Italy has been the highest quality game so far. Germany-Portugal should be even better and even USA-Ghana will be pretty good. there really is no clear favourite. the only reason people say Brazil is because A) the tournament is in Brazil and B) they're just automatically assumed to be the heavy favourite at every WC. 5 or 6 teams, maybe more, could easily win. |

That pass by Rooney on England's goal was a beauty. |

Could Bergevin be tempted in signing one soon-to-be-bought-out Richards (Brad or Mike) ? |

Both could be good signs. Depending on the money and terms obviously. |

yeah i agree. i had thought he played well but then i read all the post-game reports and he was just trashed (especially in the UK papers). which was a sobering reminder that i really know nothing about soccer. |

i wouldn't mind Mike (though, typically, don't think he'd be interested in playing here). Brad can (frank) right off. |

He was invisible in the first half. Well, at least, from my perspective. I think I heard his name only a couple of times. seemed like he was in a position where not a lot of plays were made so.
Edit: also, England lost. And I guess Rooney is the whipping boy.
Edit2: That Sterling guy is pretty spectacular I thought. |

He got benched last playoffs.
He got demoted to the 4th line these playoffs.
You'd find him infuriating pretty quickly. |
