Soccer gets a bad wrap in the us, but it's a global sport that's obsessed over in many countries. People like to point at all the diving, but you can say the same in hockey and in hockey you are supposed to get hit. - funmaster18
the refs in the world cup are worse then hockey
the call against croatia was disgraceful, and seemed more scripted then the pens drafting crosby |

Speaking of size, if this guy is available in the draft I would draft him. Guy gets it done!! Not big, but has serious heart. - hockeylover

I'm sure MJL would only want to draft The Mountain.

Absolutely. As a neutral party for that game, I can easily say the ref had one set of rules for the Brazilians and another different set for the Croatians. It was embarrassing and a disgrace. |

Any truth to that rumor of the Flyers going after Spezza and sending Vinny along with draft picks and either Morin or Haag, imho those 2 prospects better be untouchable right now unless your getting a Keith or Doughty type player in return. |

Poor Croatia.
First they had to deal with the Lannisters taking over in Kings Landing and now the Japanese ref ruining their football match. |

Includes one of the best quotes I've read in awhile:
"While his point totals were beyond impressive it is important to remember the Sarnia Sting were one of the worst teams in junior hockey. As NBA great Charles Barkley once said regarding players who have great numbers on bad teams, “they’re like looters in a riot”. This means they’re getting their points because they likely have stopped playing to win and individualism has set in. " - Tomahawk
Yeah. I read that. I like that analogy. He must have been talking about Evan Turner when the Sixers traded him to Indiana |

Oh, sorry, I forget it's a forum talking about a bunch of faeries who run around in circles, fake crippling injuries every 30 seconds, and have "exciting" 0-0 ties. - jmatchett383

From what I've watched, yes.
Now, the last World Cup game where the one dude basically drop kicked the other guy in the chest...now THAT was exciting. |

The call was beyond disgraceful. If the officiating was better, players would stop diving. Just like in the NHL today, players know they'll get a call or two if they dive. |

I wonder if the Flyers are relatively quiet this offseason.
I would not mind if they could unload a contract or two to make some cap room, and maybe pick up a bottom six winger and exchange one of their "defensive" D men for a more rounded type player.
Consider signing Timmo after the season starts to a reasonable one year deal and see what happens. |
