The market is so inflated for defensive players that some team out there will give Niskanen 6+mil. If he wants to test the market I am almost positive a team in desperate need of a defensemen will over pay for him.
I don't get the arguement that just because if Marty comes, that means MAF should be dealt. Marty is just a backup. That's it. Fleury is your starter. Besides who would you get to start should he(Fleury) be moved? Hiller? Apparently Anaheim didn't think too much of him as he barely sniffed the post season this year. - Pelle31Forever
The price for Fleury should be a 1st or a solid top 6 guy.... no team is making that deal!!!

First time we agree on something sbroads24... Plus he's 26 year's old and signed to a reasonable contract. I'm a die hard Pens fan, but we're spoiled... Pens don't need to trade Neal to add grit and heart... I'd be very happy signing a guy like Steve Ott as and URF... at the right price lol
All of this said... if Neal + a prospect gets the Pens Kesler in listening... changes everything though... 3 center model is a very "Shero" like philosophy... Kesler would have to be ok with playing wing. - Brianandr1
IMO you guys don't need Kesler. You just need guys to step up on lines 3 and 4.
Great players get shut down in the playoffs every year, it's the Benoit Pouliot's and Bryan Bickell's that help teams win despite that . |

Kings also have Gaborik. He 's not Neal like? (one dimensional) ... Seams like sacpegoating to blame one player.
Player's that deserve the blame most are Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Kunitz, Adams...et (had to throw him in there lol) and Neal... along with the coach... - Brianandr1
I'm not blaming Neal and absolving the rest of the team. But you're not trading Malkin or Crosby, and Neal would fetch the best return. Gaborik isn't a child on skates in regards to the stupid dirty penalties Neal takes year after year. |

Neal is a 35-40 goal scoring winger. He doesn't need to be Justin Williams. He's better than him.
The Pens need depth. Period end of story. Remember last season when Toews couldn't score to save his life? Or this year when Kopitar went scoreless through the Hawks series. People want to blame the star players, there's a reason Shero was let go and Crosby will stay - sbroads24
He needs to be less of a child and more of a pro, or at least have some heart, do more than just score, that helps a team win. I knew I shouldn't have used Williams as an example, he just came to mind because he does other things besides score goals, and actually has some character. |

All I'm saying is a winger making under 6 mil that can pot 35-40 should be the least of that teams worries IMO |

In a perfect world they could trade Neal plus for a really good d man that's less expensive than letang and then trade letang for evander Kane plus but this of course isn't NHL 14 |

Neal and 2015 first for Phaneuf. Letang for E. Kane. Trade MAF for Brodeur and a 1st, flip Malkin and the two Pens' first after the first trade for Staal and Staal. Bam. I'd be happy. |

Marty is cooked like a chicken for crying out loud. He's 42 not 24. Time for him to become a goalie coach. Honestly ??? |

Zatkoff did a fantastic job as the backup last year and I would be happier to see him play some more games than have Marty come in as a 1A. If a 1A is what management thinks this team needs then its just time to move on from Fluery. |

Great move as a new Gm.Bring in a guy who should be retired and retain a guy who should be bought out or traded. This would be a brilliant move Ek. |

What a fool! Why tarnish your legacy? This is like Namath or Willie Mays in their last years. Retire gracefully Marty! |

Marty hasn't showed his age till last year. He looks much slower and his stats reflect that. The 2012 run to the cup he was awesome. During the lockout year he was ok. However, it's apparent he's on a rapid decline and I wouldn't be surprised to see a save percentage below .90 next year for him |

The Penguins signing Brodeur to be a 1A would be the most Flyers thing ever. Throwing money at guys far past their prime but still a name. As a Flyers fan, I'd love to see him go to Pittsburgh |

So is it too late or too early to start comparing Marty to Brett Farve? Should we be go getting him some commercials for jeans and just for men? Age is similar in the debate on when on earth are they gonna retire or not discussion.
