Ok. Thanks.

I know it's probably off base (especially since I haven't seen him play), but hearing about his strengths makes me think of Tom Wilson. That scares me.

I get more of a speedier Johan Franzen or less-talented Landeskog vibe.

He's a sack of monkey dung. He better not be back next year calling Flyers games. No one wants to hear his act anymore.
- PLindbergh31

I don't mind him at all.

I think Markov will get 3 years from someone. He's still a very good all around defenseman. Just has a fairly significant injury history.

I would sign Markov for 2 years in a heartbeat.

Danny Markov?

I don't get the hatred for JJ. I think he does a great job narrating the flow of the game. Sure he's a bit of a homer but what do you really expect as the announcer for an NHL team. At least he's not that clown from Boston.

But he said NO ONE wants to hear his act anymore. NO ONE!!!

Streit was a pretty good player in his Montreal days.

You don't like Markov?

- PhillySportsGuy

I think he's a good dman, a quality bridge... but having to go multiple years on another 35+ seems a bit risky... and he won't exactly come cheap.

I'd be more for a stealth Joni signing, or take a gander at potentially high-value additions like Nikitin, Fayne, and Redmond. I'm interested in Brian Connelly for the Phantoms too... he's never gotten a shot despite being pretty darned skilled.

Yeah, none of them address the top-pair, but they could help re-balance the mix, which I think is an easier goal to attain.

Thanks Bill! This is really great stuff.

I wish the Flyers would add speed to their "type" of player.

- ManCity

Adrian can skate, too. Mario is the one with the jet-propelled skates, but the younger Kempe is a good skater; just more of a power skater.

Not a bad framework; pretty accurate.

I hate to put statistical numbers on it, since it's a guess. But he has the potential to be respectable goal scorer in the NHL and a top-six forward for sure if he develops as expected.

Kempe is very much a "Flyers style" of player; even more so than his brother (who was drafted by the Flyers but was not signed).

- bmeltzer

I'm kind of leaning towards Kevin Fiala, Jakub Vrana, or David Pastrnak of the ones you listed for the Flyers at 17

I think the Tom Wilson comparable in this draft would be Nick Ritchie.

I think 2 years on Markov would be good value. Even if it costs close to $7M. He was used at Montreal's #1 defenseman most of the year. You can argue about who is really the best on that team, but Markov was, by far, the most consistent.

It's funny that Mario came along when the speed protocols were setting in, and now Adrian is coming in right as the mobile-heavies are du jour... and he'll be in the Flyers' wheelhouse.

"Ritchie is a prototypical power forward with an impressive blend of size, skill and strength. He skates well for a big player and has agile feet. He bulls his way around the ice and has an impressive, erratic shot."

I'd take him, but he isn't likely to get out of the top 10. Watched a decent amount of him this year.

This makes me think of the Happy Gilmore hockey tryout in the beginning of that movie.

Apparently his stock is really taking a dive... disappointing season w/ Kalpa and a brutal U18.... maybe not all the way to 30, but he might drop a bit.

I'm hoping if fleury drops to the 12-14 range Philly tries to trade up to take him.

I'd take him in a minute but they need more picks not less.
