That's 15 teams right there; the rest would consider him as a 1C with respect to age.

I don't think he meant that as a complete list. Just stopped at 15 because it was quick and easy to show just how stupid your comment was.

Not to mention some of those teams would have him fourth or fifth down the depth chart.

Love Turris. Plays wonderful 200' game.

No problems with Spezza being moved on. An essential requirement of rebuild is that you reconfigure your top 6. When Leaf fans come to a Senator thread to attack it has something to do with the depth of their own inner pain.

Think about how painful it must be to support a team that has made it to the playoffs only once in 10 years. And, once in the playoffs they self destructed carrying a 4-1 lead into the 3rd period of a game 7. And, of course, they followed it up with one of the biggest choke jobs in the history of hockey coming down the stretch this past season. As usual, they finished behind the Senators. This is a team that signs David Clarkson and represents it as the return of Wendle Clark.

If Leaf fans stick to hockey you can engage them in dialogue. But when they revert to insults and disrespectful commentary be nice to them. Do not exchange insults other than as matter of fact statements. Always acknowledge their shame as the source of their pain. Offer them sympathy and understanding. They merely want to project their anger towards the Leafs unto another fan base. Treat them tenderly and they will become reasonable.

I like Prock. I actually do. Sometimes his insights and research prove out to be both good and interesting. But he just has a blind spot when it comes to other Canadian teams. For example, he was nowhere to be seen on this site when the Sens made a good playoff stand against Montreal. But, he was likely all over the Montreal threads dissing their performance.

But, think about it. If you spent years supporting the crap thrown up by the blue and whites, would you not be feeling a little frustrated as well?

That’s not true. I told you then as I tell you now, Montreal was seen as the easiest first round opponent across the board, and it really meant nothing. I think that’s quite obvious, especially in retrospect, given the results of the second round and following season.

You talk of pain and what not. You fail to acknowledge the state the Senators are in. It’s not pretty. You’ve clearly deluded yourself into thinking things are all rosy. The team is crap. Prospects are thinning. Players hitting free agency are jumping ship as fast as they can. Some, like Spezza, are trying to get out even before then. A team that can’t even convince it’s captains to stick around. An owner with no budget.

It really is a mess.

Ho-Lee-(frank). I'll have one of what you're having.

What I'm having is great, it's called having actual balls and being willing to tell teams looking to rip us off what we would need in a negotiation to give up a first line centre with a proven scoring record.

The number of players who have more points per game than Spezza in the NHL since the start of the salary cap era can be counted on one hand. PPG players in the playoffs are also few and far between.

Martin St Louis is 38 and got a return of Ryan Callahan, a 1st and a 2nd at the trade deadline with one year left on his contract after formally requesting a trade. To say we have no leverage in a scenario like the one with Spezza is ridiculous if you look at how Yzerman was able to deal with his whiny baby of a star player.

Players like Jason Pominville, Ryan Miller, Thomas Vanek and others have been traded for offers like what I put forward, all in the last year. I'm sick of everyone here undervaluing Spezza just because the team has said they would be willing to listen to deals. They've also said they won't trade him if the right offer doesn't come, everything else is just media BS trying to sell page hits.

You can believe the groupthink all you want, but Murray is not gonna trade him unless the offer is one that makes Ottawa better in the long run.

So again, starting point would be a Yashin type offer of a 1st, a decent D and a plug. 1st, Fowler and Bonino/Palmieri (who I admit I undervalue) is a good place to start bargaining.

And, so why would a Leaf fan be more distressed about the Senators than most Senator fans? As bad as you claim the Senators to be they still finished ahead of the Leafs in the standings. Do you not think that some of your anguish is better directed towards the struggles of the blue and white team?

Nope. I'm not distressed about it at all. When you post stupid crap like you did above (your past several posts in this thread), however, you're clearly in a deluded state.
