It's time for people to get off Kessel's back and treat him as one of the league's truly elite players, because he is one.
He may be one of the league's elite players but the price we paid to acquire him is what give's many fans to not appreciate him fully.
It's not Kessel's fault as he didn't make the deal. We were a bad team before he arrived and we still are a bad team. We would be far better off (IMO) with Seguin, Hamilton and the high second rounder we also gave Boston. - sparky
Jared Knight, man, he's killing it! |

Interesting but all things being equal...I think their per game numbers would be more telling. |

What's really impressing with these stats is that Kessel does this with Bozak.. |

Kessel is an elite point producer. So is Ovechkin. I wouldn't want either on my team. - paulr
Kane would love him on your team. So would Sharp. Hawks LOVE The Thrill.
He is also the favorite of exercise bikes. |

Ha...no...could care less about Sid.
Curious how the rest of the group changes.
Actually says a lot about Phil's durability because I am pretty sure in that span he hasn't missed any games (?). |

Where is Giroux? Ovechkin?
There are so many top names out there missing from you chart it is not funny.
Typical leaf fan bloating the numbers to make the Leaf player look the best...lol
Flame on. - meduser
Yeah - everyone knows that quantitative statistical analysis is the voodoo of fan boys looking to pump up a player. Facts shmacts, draft shmaft, fancy stats nancy stats. Who is that Crosby guy anyway? He's no Giroux or Ovechkin that's for sure. |

not sure , only time I think he missed was when he first came to the leafs
missed the start of the year with shoulder surgery , tough to get hurt when you don't go into the corners |

Don't know why Bozak is disliked so much. He does an amazing job and brings out the best in Kessel.

Correct. No games missed last 4 years. Since he came to the Leafs he's missed only first 12 games of first season (shoulder surgery). But hasn't missed since.
And he's doing it with the worst 1st line center in the league. |

It's a shame since his per 82 game numbers since joining the Leafs are pretty impressive. |

Thankyou, I forgot his name. We wouldn't have need to make the Bolland trade with Sequin, Kadri, Bozak and Knight as our centers. Hamilton added to our top 4 defenseman would make us a very good young team. Probably would have made the playoffs last year.

I wonder if his stats today would still prove that he still is the league's worst 1st line centre. Curious. |

Ovechkin is a terrible 5 v 5 player. And maybe Giroux wasn't good enough 5 v 5 either. Considering he was 4th in PPP this season, seems realistic. |

Doesn't help the fact that Captain Pylon broke his arm one year with a way off target slap shot |

That's assuming you would have drafted Hamilton, know one knows for sure what draft position that pick would be or who would have been selected. But the guys who all went ahead of Hamilton are all very promising young players as well so I'd probably prefer Seguin and one of them myself. Hard to say the Leafs really got owned in that trade though since they got one of the better offensive players in the league back in that deal who's still only 26 now. |

if Bozie is the worst , then what does that make Kadri ?
he couldn't even come close to doing the job Bozie did when given the chance this year. Kessel and JVR both suffered without Bozie , he may not be the best in the league , but he is far from the worst and the best the leafs have , so get your head outta your ass |
