It'd almost certainly require more than Schenn, although with the right return, I'd be open to doing it.

It's not really giving up on Schenn, it's trading from a spot of depth to address a really pressing weakness.

I'm not against trading Schenn. I just don't want to go down the same road again. I would prefer adding a more proven player even if he doesn't have as much upside as a 20 year old defenseman.

I think Sutter came out and said everything is cool. Who knows what that really means though. Every injury is just a "flesh wound".

My issue with the JvR for Schenn trade was value and need. I think JvR was worth more than Luke Schenn, and honestly, the needs the Schenn really filled-young, righty defenseman-were not as pressing as adding a good puck mover with mobility or keeping Carle.

I still think L. Schenn can be a solid, 2nd pair thumper who plays solid defense and chip in 15-20 points. That's a need, but it's not the same value as a 30 goal, 1st line LW

Agreed. If they do deal B.Schenn for defense, it has to be a deal they initiate and they need to specifically target a guy that gives them full value, or as close as possible.

Do you realize the NBA draft is June 26 and the NHL draft is June 27? I don't think you're prepared.

Most importantly, they need to feel they can walk away without getting what they wanted because the right deal didn't present itself.

Yep. It has to be about improving the team and not about making a deal just to make a deal. Make it so the worst case scenario is that you're stuck with a 22 year old kid coming off a 20 goal season
