You are right, Vanek is the same player he was a month/year ago..... Which is an inconsistent, over rated one dimensional selfish player that plays when he wants.

He literally disappointed 4 teams in 1 season including team Austria, quite an accomplishment

He put up 27 goals and 68(3rd highest of his career)points while playing for 4 coaches and 3 teams this NHL season.....but yeah, inconsistent, over rated, one dimensional.

I'd take that "over rated" player any day that can still maintain respectable stats while learning that many new systems/teammates to play alongside.

You guys saw the real tomas Vanek. I hate to tell you. Talented player, but disappears constantly throughout a season. Let him move on. 7 million for a player like him is a waste of money.

As far as Vanek goes, this is pretty much what you get with him. He'll play stretches of just incredible hockey where you think he is a top-10 winger and then he'll turn around and be a ghost for 10 games. He is who he is. Sucks for the Habs he disappeared in the conference finals.

Offseason plans should be (not in order):

1. Get an offensive talent like Vanek. Perhaps Gaborik?
2. Sign Subban.
3. Fukk Gionta.
4. Trade Gorges. (I would try to get Yak)
5. Sign Markov if the price is right. (I wouldn't go over 3 years)
