I'm really not sure how much leverage Schenn has in negotiations. I look at the negotiations with Pietrangelo and Subban whose negotiations lasted well into the summer and there was no offer sheet given for either player. I believe he gets signed to a deal more to the liking of the Flyers. Ryan O'Reilly was a more established player in the league and he was offer sheeted $5 million/yr. I don't see another team as daring towards Schenn at this point of his career. Don't get me wrong, I like Schenn and think he needs to remain part of the core. - ravishingone
Yeah. He has very little leverage. I don't see him getting an offer sheet. No team is going to give up the kind of assets it would take to make the Flyers let him walk.
I kind of like the way the Flyers appear to be playing hardball with him.

I am very comfortable having him sign a one year "prove it" deal. Sure, it may cost them more money next year, but it gives a year for Laughton to develop and see if he can assume a top 9 role. If B. Schenn becomes a 25 goal scorer and 60 pt guy, I'm confident Hexy would be more then happy to be more flexible in negotiations.

Yeah. This is his first go around as an rfa. Schenn really shouldn't be expecting too much. If he thinks it's time for a big deal, he must be feeling he's accomplished more than he has.
Who was the player on the bruins that Brayden lit up after he circled around the net? Hit him right on the faceoff dot, sort of like the hit on Umberger...

Steep, but if Schenn is demanding too much it makes sense to move him. Morin I would hate to move but I think his timeline to the develop just doesn't match this teams needs.
Just throwing it out there though. We all know when Richards and Carter face the Rags in the SCF and Uncle Eddie has a cancer scare poop is going to hit the fan this offseason. - hereticpride
What is Schenn going to do, hold out? Flyers just have to stand their ground, and the Schenn camp won't have much of a choice. And if they can't come to an agreement on a multi year deal, just come to an agreement on a 1 year deal.

Would that make him a UFA the end of next season? Cause if so, you probably have to trade him or have a new contract in his hand before the next TDL.

No, he would still be a RFA. He won't be eligible for UFA status until after the 17/18 Season I believe.
