That's where the advantage of drafting those players comes into play. Neither Moore or Fiddler will come on the cheap. Moore has a 1M cap hit, and Fiddler had a 1.7M cap hit I beleive. - MJL
Fiddler is UFA and 34; when he signed his last deal he was routinely scoring 10+ goals and 25-30 points. At this point he is now more of a 6-8 goal 15-20 point player and I doubt his next deal will be anymore than 3 years 4.5 mil.
He's a guy who I like, basically an all around better version of Hall. I'd be very happy with a 4th line of Fiddler-Laughton-Raffl. |

Flyers need to look at every avenue, and use every method of acquiring player available to them. Which includes drafting and developing, UFA, RFA's, trades, undrafted free agents. All of it. And do it smartly. - MJL
Yeah they do. I am really hoping for some luck at this draft in Philly. I like Virtanen and i am hoping he drops due to the shoulder injury. If he fell to 17 that would be a steal. |

Yup. I really don't want Timonen back esp at 6 million. Having Rinaldo and Rosehill under contract is handcuffing. Would much rather have two open contract slots and that 1.5 million to sign a useful 4th line player. - PLindbergh31
If the Flyers have truly soured on Rinaldo, there are probably a few teams out there who would look at his as an interesting project, maybe the newer, "tough" Sabres would want him.
Rosehill's contract is one thing, but his hit can be negated with waivers if they need to. |

Rinaldo and Rosehill under contract is not handcufing at all. Contract slots are not an issue. I want Timonen back, but not at 6M. - MJL
So you would prefer having Rinaldo and Rosehill under contract, instead of having two open contract slots and 1.5 million dollars in cap space? |

Yeah. I like Brian Boyle and Moore but I think the way they played they might have priced themselves out of what i want to spend on fourth line. I still like Leo Komarov and think he has skill and speed to play on 4th or 3rd line with Coutuier line |

His current point totals are pretty much in line with his career average. He's not going to come to the Flyers for 800K, coming off a deal making 1.8M |

Anything to get them off the team. They aren't players who can contribute to winning in the playoffs. And to me, when that's the case it makes them useless. |

Maybe, not sure if he has good enough hands to play consistently in the top 9 |

Flyers could easily trade Rinaldo if they choose to. And they can easily waive and demote Rosehill anytime they want. And they can have that cap space. They have plenty of contract slots to work with. Not liking two players doesn't make them handcuffs to roster maneuverability. |

I was thinking more along the lines of 3 years and 3.75 million as a fair deal. They can waive Rosehill, demote him if not claimed, and then you are only adding 575k to the cap |

They could certainly do that, but I'd rather see added cap expenses put towards acquiring a bigger need. But that player might not be available. |

I think the Hartnell and Vinny Deals handcuff them but still think you can move them if creative. Just my opinion. I know Hartnell does his thing but his deal would be one I would want to move to try and change the dynamic of the team to get faster and more skill. |

I also like it cause Fiddler is an excellent penalty killer and having him along with Coots, Read and Raffl means less time for Giroux on the PK |

Just have a journeyman from the Phantoms as the 13th forward. Not a young player who is a prospect, someone like a Holmstrom, or Mcginn can be the 13th forward. |

I hope we all know this isn't going to be a 1 year fix. Due to the FA market and draft and contracts Flyers have I think we will need to be a little patient and allow Hextall to do his thing before we judge. |

Have to guard against becoming too small and lacking in physical play. It would be great to have players that not only can give what Hartnell does, and also adds some speed. I don't see Hartnell as an issue, and I think he's a player they need. Lecavalier brings a lot of questions into play, as to whether he is a fit going forward. Needs to play center with the right players around him. |

Fiddler would be taking the place of Hall, so I don't know if it means less PK time for Giroux. He was essentially the 5th PK forward last year, and was really out there for FO ability. I'd like to see Giroux kept off of the PK altogether. |

That's really too bad about Wellwood. Must have been an awfully tough decision for him to make but clearly seems like the right one. All the luck to him in this new phase of his career. |

1. Hartnell will not waive his NMC
2. How would you replace Hartnell's production?
3. How would you replace his friendship with Giroux and vibe in the locker room?
4. Hartnell will not waive his NMC. |

Best of luck Eric Wellwood. I love how the Flyers handled his situation, giving him the AHL deal last year during his rehab phase and then offering him a position this year. Very solid classy moves.
Get well soon Mr Snider. I am thankful every day for what you have done for the Flyers and Philly. Chemotherapy is no joy ride.
I wonder who the next owner will be when the time comes?
Bill, any thoughts on how this would work?

That would be excellent. My dream is to have a third AND 4th line where 5 (preferably all 6) can kill penalties and play meaningful minutes at 5 on 5.
