Wilson is the classic example of why you shouldn't rush a player.

Let's bring up our first round pick and have him play as an energy forward on the 4th line with limited minutes. That will be much better than top line minutes in Juniors with first unit PP time.

Dude Boyle picking up loose puck at his blue line when we have two dman back and he skates it up the wing and gets around both dmen and gets a shot off is as bad as if you or I jumped out if the stands and did the same thing. Sorry I'm so offensive just my blood boyles at the thought. And yes that was a pun

Are you honestly going to tell me that the Flyers played well as a team at 5 on 5 play in that series. And that the defenseman were the only issue defensively in that series? The entire team stopped playing in the 2nd period of game 7.

I'm of the mind that he was a poop prospect to begin with... like Hugh Jessiman/Brett Lindros. I would never pick a guy like that in the 1st-round when there are far more skilled players available... ever.

The alternative would be having the worst defense in the league.

I know he will cost too much, but we paid Vinny how much?

This is more of a necessity, over the "sexy" moves that Homer loved so much.

Edit $5.25 mill for a 36 year old Streit
OR
$6.5 mill, (maybe), for a 27 year old Niskanen?

If they clear significant cap space, I wouldn't be averse to it. It would take more than just moving Grossmann and VL. They have other holes to fill. They can't just throw all available money at Niskanen and let everything else fall as it may.

I'm a big proponent of Laughton being a full time NHL player next season, but not if he would be getting Wilson-minutes. At least 11 or 12 per game, or he should be in Allentown.

Yeah. I didn't know much about him, but there aren't many 19 year olds who are ready for full time NHL action. Wilson is definitely not one of them.

Edit: Picking Wilson and giving up Filip Forsberg for Erat are two pretty bad moves.

I have a feeling he'll be ready to step in and play. He should be given every opportunity to do so.

This team couldn't play a solid team game for 60 minutes if they tried. How many times this year. Maybe twice ? I agree they played poorly for the most part. They've been doing it for years. Why do we as fans expect any differently. They don't need a culture change. Everything is just f ing dandy.

Honestly I'm shocked they didn't lye down in game 6. Maybe if ny pushed a little harder our true colors would have flown like game 7

Except for mason. That dude gets all my respect. If I was him I'd been kicking someone's a$$ someone would have taking a beating for the team on that bus ride home

Not really, it's just an easy way to rip a team when you can't make a good point.

If Michel Handzus can still be a second line center on a Cup contender, why can't Mike Richards?

It's not just her reporting, I follow all the Flyers reporters on facebook and she's just so unbelievably unprofessional that I can't stand it. I understand she's fairly young but I'll never be able to take her as a serious media member. She comes off like a fan girl mascot type.

That being said she does seem like a nice person. Just a nice person I want to bash.

- mayorofangrytown

didn't seem very nice when i met her at a charity game i played in that she helped organize. she seemed to think she was an extremely important person. a bit smug, unprofessional, and it matched my opinion based on her writing prior to my having met her. a=a. not a fan.

Im a part of the Niskanen fan club, but I fear he's going to get around $7M. Thats just way too much for him.
