I never listened to him and my friends told me I had to give him a try because of how bad he is. I listened for 10 minutes and wanted to punch him in the face. I said never again and I've never listened to him again.

My fear is that he becomes so bad, it becomes 'trendy' to listen to him.

- PhillySportsGuy

I completely agree. I can't stop going back. I'm so bored at night on the road.

Yeah. He's a complete schmo. His opinions are rarely thought out. I don't even like him. What he's doing on AM is so stupid it's entertaining.
- mayorofangrytown

I can't listen to him even for pleasure because he's so bad. Not even so bad it's good, it's beyond that.

Not only that, but Kopitar is a players who should be in the conversation of best player in the League.
- MJL

Agreed. When you have arguably the best center in the NHL, a top 3 dman, and a top 3 goaltender along with a very talented supporting cast it's no surprise that the Kings are one of the top teams in the NHL. Lombardi has done an amazing job building that team. I think Hextall had some input as well. Which is why I'm hopeful he can build something special with the Flyers.

His point production was never as high as those other guys. He also wasn't officially recognized for his defensive acumen until this season.
- PhillySportsGuy

a lot of the lack of offense has to do with the system and his role there. he also really hasnt had wingers pumping in goals for him.

people can richie and carts all they want. but they dont win that cup if it wasnt for him.

I"m in my car about 3 hours a day for my commuting/running about.

I load my iPod with podcasts and such and I'm golden. I only need a radio to listen for traffic reports on 1060. And I could probably even do away with that if I wasn't old. I know I can get traffic reports elsewhere, but unless 1060 says it, I guess I don't believe it.

There was this one kid a while back- Gee Eye Gee- put up like 60 points in the AHL in 12 games, got called up the NHL for a week, then was sent back down to make room for a 4th liner after scoring 30 points or so in 8 games.

Don't see that every day.

- Giroux_Is_God

I heard that kid needed to work on his play away from the puck.

I know. I'm not arguing against him. I love him as a player. I'm just saying why he was never in the discussion before this year.

Edit: Think about how good he was in the olympics too.

I would do anything for an auxiliary cable jack...my '95 2 door Saturn, needless to say, doesn't have one

and this is where im extremely vexed as in finding the point, unless it is just to rant and curse the sky (which is fine, i do it daily).

the parameters that you are throwing out to me as i read them are this:

you cannot win without elite talent.
you cannot acquire elite talent without picking at the very top of the draft.

and there is my confusion. because, without putting words in your mouth, it would very much indicate tanking.

- stayinthefnnet

No tanking! Let me straighten the record. I'm not saying you can't get elite talent in the middle of the first round or in any round for that matter. It does happen from time to time what I'm saying is to blanket saying build thru the draft won't work because no team not even the almighty red wings can expect to consistently pick elite talent when your good every year and pick in the middle of the 1st round. What I'm saying is yes build thru the draft. Get good players such as read dimmer couts schenn morin ghost hagg but eventually unless you happen to bottom out and get the kanes toews Crosby malkins then you're going to have to move some of those good players to get the elite to truelly compete with the big boys

Giroux averaged 1.18 ppg after the first 15-games... that's a 96-point pace over an entire season.

Without that initial golf-related slump, we might have been talking about what a career-best year he just had.

I used to drive a '98 Saturn. I used to use one of those transmitters that worked with my iPod and you could hear the iPod through the radio. It was not terrible, but the sound was dicey sometimes.

So don't tank. Just lose so we can get a top 5 pick. Got it.

Nope. I can't do any of that poop. Just a CD thing and that's it. I can listen to the radio, but I don't have a) a jack or b) a tape deck to do the radio thing that some people do

oh okay, what youre advocating is collecting a lot of good guys, and then trying somehow to pool sokme of them into a superstar or two. fair enough. i was just confused initially as to what logical progression you were trying to make.

although, the grass isnt always greener. its hard to be a bigger superstar than crosby or malkin, and people say one of them should be traded to get a bunch of those mid level guys.

and do you call him dimmer because he is black? racist
