That's true. I have a Vizio TV that has a lot of the apps on it, and then I use my Chromecast on my other TV that doesn't have those capabilities.
- HonkFortheGoose

Chromecast is still in its infancy. It's going to get more app support, and it's eventually going to rival the Roku, especially if it remains at the $35 price point.

The one thing about Chromecast, if I understand correctly, is that its streaming capabilities are limited to the device it comes from. In other words, if I wanted to stream a movie from Netflix, for example, in 1080p, I do that unless the device is capable of handling it, despite the fact it's hooked to a 1080p television.

We usually have space for people to crash. Or if you have a tent, there's space to put that up.

Are there 2 trees in close proximity?

I actually discovered it because a friend of mine is a huge Google supporter. He has 3 of them in his house. What I love about it, is that I can take it to any other room if I need to and there aren't a ton of wires or anything else. I just plug it into the HDMI port of the TV and I'm ready to go.

There's 1 tree that I can think of. If you want to come scope it out ahead of time, we move in the previous weekend. I know you probably work Saturday night, but we'll be there all day Sunday too before heading back home to work for most of the week.

I skate there a few times a year. Plus go there to watch the Solar Bears practice.

I know this sounds passive and even lazy, but I'm hoping that comes along for me sooner rather than later. There's even a part of me that wants to move overseas if even for a little while.
- buffalofan19

Sometimes the stars just need to align correctly. You seem like the type of person that knows what they want. Overseas for a bit would be cool it would be easier doing it before you start a family and what not though.

I wonder if they should have figured out a way to put the Panthers there instead of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. I know it's a big tourist destination, but I feel like the "snowbird" effect would be more similar to Tampa than it would where they are now.

I was just having this conversation with my buddy down there. The Solar Bears of the East Coast league draws 3-6 thousand a game. Orlando is a much better place for the Panthers IMO.

Also have you seen this yet?

Ultimately, I think what happens is that he sells the team, but the fine is reduced or even fully abated. Personally, I don't understand how the league could fine him if they're casting him out of the group. Theoretically, you can only fine someone who is still a member of your organization.

I think the Lightning should have been put here instead of Tampa. As for the Panthers... well all 5 of their fans want them there.

Since we are on the topic. I am mulling over Cable/TV options. I know some of you have gone other routes. Not sure I want to pay out the arse for cable since I wont be watching much TV.

Any suggestions?

I am going to buy a chromecast.

The Lightning are doing just fine in Tampa, provided they put forth a winning product. It would be the same for Orlando. In "non-traditional" markets, you gain fans by winning.

Fixed. There's no such thing as an "HD" Antenna. All antennas are capable of transmitting HD provided the signal is strong enough. As a bit of an antenna hobbyist, that term always makes me cringe.

Ideally, that's the best case scenario, and is fine if you don't mind missing out on local sports (which are blacked out in local markets).

But we are only an hour away from Tampa. We are considered "part of the fanbase" for the Lightning. Not sure two teams could be supported that close to each other... in Central Fl anyway.

I really do wish the Lightning was here though in Orlando. I cannot stand driving down that evil road known as I-4 to see the Sabres play when they are in town.

At least we have an ECHL team now. They are a lot of fun to watch and the tickets are cheap.

Yea I saw that. It's a stepping stone, but not what I was thinking the "Major" news would be.
