Apparently the ref did see the hit & deemed it a clean hit. But the bigger question like Jan commented on in his post yesterday is, if its a suspension but not a penalty on the ice, doesn't that make the officials responsible for some answers? Can't be too good officiating to have such a catch 22 as this happen. - DJ Lance Rock
Particularly given how late it was. The league gives the checking 0.5 seconds from the time the targeted player plays the puck to finish his check. They clocked the puck having left Stepan at 0.9. That tells me these guys have no feel for the game whatsoever. You didn't need a stopwatch to know that the hit was late, whether or not they felt it wasn't a head shot or not. And I have seen five-minute majors handed out to players who check an opponent late with an injury resulting from the hit. That absolutely should have been the call in that game. |

What is this justice you speak of? We got our justice remember? - tomburton99
No, no, Monteal got its justice on us for the malicious Ty Cobb-like slide that Kreider put on Carey Price. That slide came right out of the Ty Cobb book. You can see the evil look on the face of Kreider as he purposefully raises his skates, just like Cobb used to do with his metal spikes when sliding into second to "break up a double play", trying to slice Price to shreds. |

Brassard will play game 4. He says he will be 100 percent healthy and ready. - jimbro83
Wouldnt want to be down 2 of our top centers. While Moore's play has been great as a fill in, and I love the job he did, he isn't Brassard. |

First it was accidental, then the next reckless, now its back to accidental again because Prust got the team some payback. The dude needs to make up his mind - TPC
It was all a way for the guy to try to motivate his team, which was being outplayed. That's why he said what he said. It's all a stupid game. He had to back track now of course.
That's also why Prust did what he did. He was trying to "set the tone," and to "get the Rangers off their game," by making them angry causing them to focus more on retribution than scoring more goals.
I think it's all poppycock and stupid rhetoric. I think the Rangers come out tomorrow and the only retribution that they will seek is a W to put the Habs on the brink of elimination. The only guys on the Rangers roster that were looking for any form of retribution in game three were Dorsett, who did it the right way by fighting Prust (not taking any extra penalties in doing so mind you), Step of course, who tried to put the next few Habs he saw through the boards (legally) and Carcillo, who went way overboard. |

Yep if Montreal really thinks the Rangers are going to give in and play after the whistles they have another thing coming. I expect the Rangers best game of the playoffs tomorrow night |

He's done for the year. As a center, he has to be able to communicate with
Kreider and Nash. With his jaw likely wired shut, he's gonna have a hard time doing that. |

Therrien and his staff did a great job turning the Habs around from last year, but man he is so easy to dislike once you see him talk to the media, or the 60 minutes of crying from the bench. |

As it should be. You play the game like you hate them. Friendship is for the offseason. |

Good, maybe he'll cry about it.

Should clarify, no NHL rule to prohibit opposing team coaches, GMs, etc. from watching other team's practice.

You know what's hysterical. Montreals practices up at their facility is open to the public. Yet he gets his panties in. Twist when the opposing teams coach is at a practice. |

The officials didn't miss it at all. - jimbro83

The #habs were not happy that some #NYR staff watched practice today. Brian Gionta says the teams agreed not to do that before the series.
oh, ok. We have a gentlemen's agreement to not watch a practice, but Therrian crying to the refs and Prust head hunting is fair game. This franchise what's everything. |
