I'm sorry for making such a terrible suggestion.

I forgot I was surrounded by hockey experts/budding general managers/professional scouts on here.

It's no wonder no one comes on these boards anymore. You can't voice your opinion without someone attempting to make you feel stupid.

Thanks.

Carry on.

No offense meant. It just makes no sense trading Myers and starting over for 3-4 years with a new dman. Myers will be in his prime when they make the push.

For anyone wondering if possible expansion teams may affect the Sabres draft spot in 2015...
It looks like a severe longshot that Seattle will get an NHL by then

Basically, the guy who owns the rights to build an arena won't do so without an NBA team locked in. So until that happens, an NHL expansion team won't happen

With one of our 2nd round picks...
Sure, why not?
Especially if we don't sign Ullmark. I'm getting a little nervous about that

Yep. That's why it makes perfect sense...
To me anyways

Assuming we can get mcdavid &/or eichel in the draft next year, we'll have a couple top end forwards to lead a really deep group of talented youngsters...
Defense also looks to be in very good shape for the future

But goalie...
That's still very much up in the air

They usually take 5years or so from drafting to getting an idea of how good they'll be...
Definitely won't hurt to add more talent back there

I'm a gambling man. I definitely prefer the 2015 pick and the chance of it being a great pick (#1 or #2) versus the #5 this year.

Look at it as a logical person would. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong for the Islanders last season, did. And they still were nowhere near one of the bottom three teams in the league. Next year, with a healthy Tavares, who holds more value than the Buffalo Sabres as a whole, plus Okposo and the great core of young players, and the addition of Halak, you will be lucky if you end up with a pick in the 9-12 range. At those spots, you will not get a better player than the fifth pick would bring you this year. The good news? Your team will be awful again and McDavid or Eichel are almost a guarantee

So, if Reinhart is Ryan Nuget Hopkins & Bennett is Mike Richards...

Who do you prefer?

Either way, its top 6 forward obviously. Just looking to gauge the room as the draft nears.

Murray surely will be attempting to wheel and deal on or near draft day
