what pisses me off more than anything else is these officials have eagle eyes when they see a player take one hand off of his stick and make these ticky tack holding and hooking calls, but they miss the most blatant penalties.

The Prust play called like it should have been, it's a 5 minute powerplay early in the game for the Rangers, Prust is ejected and the Carcillo incident never happens and it's probably a different game.

Total and complete B.S.

On the game, they fell back into regular season mode last night making a backup goalie look good, blowing tons of good chances. Shooting wide, all the things they didn't do on saturday and haven't been doing lately.

If we go by AVs train of thought as it relates to any form of contact -

"It's a hockey play" - with his patented smirk

stepan came back minutes after - it's not like he is out of the playoffs or anything like that

but, it should have been a 5 minute major and game misconduct on Prust and the Carcillo incident never happens it it's called correctly.

Just because Stepan didn't die on the ice doesn't change the fact that the refs decided the game last night.

Thing that bothered me the most last night, besides the obvious missed call on Prust, was the Rangers were playing against a rookie goalie and they were trying to pick the perfect shot. Tokarski was giving up some big rebounds and yet we wouldn't just throw the puck on net and crash it. Full credit to the Habs, they played the way we should have.

That was just his 10th nhl game
5th for us

The king was giving out rebounds as well
The rangers brought the game - not the Habs
We should have played like the rangers

He played a good game for you guys. The save on Marty before the Kreider goal was amazing. Was giving you guys credit for throwing pucks at Hank and crashing the net, where it seemed the Rangers were looking to pick a perfect shot.

In games prior, we always seemed to be in the right spot for rebounds and we were hitting the net more. Last night, while taking a ton of shots, I don't think there were that many "great" chances.

Frustrating for sure.

I remember when Prust used to man up and battle people face to face to make a difference. Not cheap shot people behind the play

That's what I was trying to say, even though the Rangers dominated shots , offensive zone time, I really don't think the quality chances were higher on the Rangers side.

Yeah, Kreider was pumped after that goal. Looked like the Hulk. But at least it was a quick end, not a drawn out 2-3 ot's and then a loss.

Everytime Montreal was in the zone, the puck was getting tangled in our guys skates, sticks just weren't in great positions.

Agreed... I think played Starcraft II to soak away the sorrows instead of just like having to go to bed with the loss on my mind!

Yea that is what I said last night, if you are gonna lose in OT...do it with your first loss and in the first minute of period lol

Yes, easily. You'd all be saying no suspension. It should have been 2 mins for interference.

The broadcasters seem very much on the Ranger's side. And yet, that was their opinion of the Prust play. They were busy pointing out every possible call missed against the Candiens, particularly Subban, so I'm thinking they weren't fudging on the Prust call.

Exactly. Whats worse then a drawn out OT where they eventually lose. Get it over quick, and lets kick some ass on Sunday.

Bo, really?? If Dorsett or Carcillo did that, I would expect at least 2 games. The fact Stepan took 3 strides, and was vulnerable, and very late, no way that's just interference.

Edit: probably 1 cause Stepan came back.

Iroinically, Hagelin was the only guy firing from all angles. Tokarski made 2 saves on him after his goal and Tokarski had no idea where the rebound was,

Did this board get a little crazy last night? Almost 1k posts, something must have gone down.

Tough game, tokarski played well, lotta LUCKY goals both side bet we hear that word a ton today considering how the habs threw that around after game 2.

My thing is, why did the linemans have to go and engage carcillo on that play? he's just standing there yapping...

Right Bo Montreal fans and every Rangers hater who only show up when we lose would have flooded this thread, it's always us right? That's 5 and game every day of the week only when it happens to the Rangers the play is broken down to every second in order to dumb it down to either 2 minutes or a "hockey play"

It's 1 loss, they didn't play poorly and of course Hank is taking a ribbing from the media and fair weathers, Montreal can't win a series on fluke goals alone and that's what they've gotten so far, we need to just drive a stake through all of this on Sunday
- cranford93

i find it interesting how you point to Montreal's flukey goals, yet you mention nothing of, say, the McDonagh goal in game 1, or both Ranger goals last night. i assume that flukeyness is likely to continue? take away all flukey goals last night and you're left with a 1-0 Montreal win. you might want to chalk everything up to flukeyness because it makes you feel better about the loss, but don't fool yourself into thinking that these 2 teams are not evenly matched. what's different this morning is that maybe the goaltending battle isn't the landslide we all thought it would be, and we could be in for a long series.
