We shouldn't read too much into anything, it could be that Poliout was confirming to Rammer that he is fine. - Blueshirts4ever
Yeah I think he is fine, was just responding when you said you didn't remember anything involving him. I'm almost positive it was Pouliot who went hard into the boards, but he didn't miss a shift. |

I'd hang my hat on that first 10 min of game 2. Your team faced adversity and came out on fire. No hank and its 4-1 after 1. If your team comes out like that again this is a series again. |

Ya, I feel like I should be way more confident than I am. Things can change so quickly. I know the Habs are sans Price but it doesn't takle away from the fact that the Canadiens are here in the ECF which means they are a team capable of winning one game tonight which changes the series. |

I did not realize how fast a team they were until Period 1 of Game 2. I think the difference in the series is our D has handled their speed and their D hasn't handled our speed in return. But man they are a fast team. Much more than I gave them credit for, granted I did not see any MTL games including the playoffs. |

How's that Habs in 5 prediction going for ya? - B2B76
Well, this prediction isn't that bad, since it will be in 6. I just didn't see Price's injury coming.
I can admit, i am not perfect. |

Apparently Trevor Timmins (head of Habs scouting) was pissed when McDonagh was traded. I remember I was pissed as well, so I can't imagine him. |

He is so good.
He would've been the perfect complement to PK. |

Scary to think you would have had PK and McDonagh on your blueline. Almost unfair if the Habs would have kept him. |

Some argue that if McDonagh was still on the Habs, PK wouldn't have developed in the player he is today...I think it's bullpoop |

Well said. I think it is.
The real question is: Is McDonagh would've been that good if developed by the Habs? |

Hahah, maybe one day.
But now, he would be 2nd. But a way better 2nd than old Markov. |

Andrew Gross @AGrossRecord
AV says Brassard still day to day and Pouliot good to go tonight. IMO Brassard plays tonight.
I hate this non-disclosure stuff, I understand its gamesmanship but is he playing or not?!?!? |

Don't be so sure, I don't want to turn this into a who is better debate, but McDonagh offensive upside is just starting to come out, defensively McDonagh is better. |

More than likely. A lot of his development was at Wisconsin.
If i remember correctly, there was a lot of concern as to whether or not he would sign with MTL or go the FA route. It was even a concern here with the Rangers until Stepan convinced him otherwise. If Gainey knew this, he may have figured he truly was a throw-in for Gomez. Plus with PK in the wings at that time, he probably saw it as a no-risk move. Hind sight is always 20/20 though.. i mean look at those Ranger trades of the 70s |

I remember you were all pissed at the time. Why trade him then? We were happy to dump Gomez's salary let alone get a prospect. |

The thing we are finding out about McDonagh is the hockey world is just finding out about McDonagh. If people in the national media knew about him like they are getting to know him now, I am not so sure Shea Weber is a Norris Finalist. |

Absolutely, to me its a wash. Team who wants a great offesive d man who plays the defensive end really well would take PK. Team who wants a great defensive D man, with good offensive abilities takes McDonagh.
Any team would be lucky to have either one. |

That trade snowballed into building this team to where it is now. We got Mac out of the deal along with Higgins, who turned into Prust I believe.
Then with the money from Gomez, we signed Gaborik the next day. He did really well here and then was traded for Brassard, Moore, and Dorsett. No Gomez trade, no Gaborik signing. Crazy the impact a big trade can have for years to come. |
