that guy must have sobbed like a little girl when that trade was made. i couldn't understand that trade at the time. just couldn't. i remembered hearing comparisons to Neidermayer when he was rafted, in that he was such a great skater and could really control the play. turns out that comparison wasn't as off the reservation as it seemed. |

yup. choosing between him and PK... i dunno. McDonagh seems like the more consistent player but PK is more explosive. though PK... not looking as good in this series. |

I know most people have 20/20 hindsight when it come to trades but that is the one trade in hockey I never heard a single person back then even pretending to justify.
it was beyond any sense or comprehension. |

no he seems to be reverting back to trying to scrape the arena roof on his wind ups and not hitting the net. the mistake on the giveaway is poop that happens not a big deal but he hasn't been generating any offense other that those end to end rushes that seem to just confuse everyone. |
|

agreed. it's much easier for the habs when they have the refs on their side. they're struggling with it this time around - dt99999

that's because you're stupid and hateful.
we didn't have an issue with bringing Gomez on. but dealing McDonagh who was our top prospect at the time with Subban, for a guy that the Rangers were clearly desperate to unload, made no sense. |

let's not forget Higgins was a throw in as well.
edit: also I had an issue with Gomez I never liked the guy. same thing with Gionta I alwasy had a hate boner for the Devils and those boring ass teams from the early 2000's |

I remember, at the time, reading an article on La Presse saying Mcdonnagh wasn't progressing as much as they thought he should.
What a load of bullpoop that was. |

even people who had no clue who Mcdonagh was at the time hated the trade because Gomez was poop and had the worst contract in the league |

I remember utter confusing that was temporarily feigned by the Cam and Gionta signings a few days later. |
