Have my draft ticket for day 1. I have only one season seat so could choose only one ticket. Decided on Friday night for first round rather than all-day Saturday.
I'm not sure how they decided who got priority. I think it was in order of seniority as an STH. I think this was day 2.
But if you are an STH and don't know what I'm talking about. Check your spam folder for emails from the Flyers about the draft. |

Just realized this....
2007 NHL draft.... Flyers took Kevin Marshall two picks before PK Subban.
Can't make this poop up. Marshall is a better dancer, and would more likely be on Soul Train. So there's that. - PLindbergh31
Im pretty sure they even traded up to get Marshall |

I'm sure there weren't 42 other players chosen before PK in that draft who were better than he was. But only the Flyers are laughable in the book of the fake Flyer fan from N Jersey. |

Marshall over Subban.... Part and parcel as to what has gone on the last 4 decades.

Yeah but to be fair, Boston took Tommy Cross before Subban too. |

Eh it happens. Like what was said above, plenty of other teams passed on Subban. They liked a guy and went and got him. Can't really blame them.
That same year Jamie Benn went in the 5th round.
Flyers didn't have a second round pick in 2007. They traded their 3rd that year along with a second in 2008 to move up to grab Marshall. |

Free agents i would be interested in for one reason or another with what they earned this year.
Of course Price would have to be right and depends on if other moves or made then it could change my thinking but just of the top of my head these could be at least looked into.
Devon Setoguchi - 3mil
Nikolai Kulemin - 2.8mil
Brian Boyle - 1.7mil
Ryan Jones - 1.5mil
Beniot Pouliet - 1.3mil
Mason Raymond - 1mil
Thomas Griess - 750k
Andy Miele - 675k
TJ Brennan - 600k
Carter Hutton - 550k
Brian Gibbons - 550k - J35Bacher
Last year I thought Philly should take a look at TJ Brennan and Kris Russell. Russell has gone on to earn a ton of time in Calgary and Brennan had a fantastic year in the AHL. Brennan could replace Gus easily. |

More than a few people on here wanted Raymond but they were busy with the guy from the Red Wings and praying for cap space. |

Russell would have been a great pickup... went from discard to top-4 guy.
Brennan's got great numbers and tools, but he's completely lost in his own zone.
Redmond and Fedun are a couple of guys I'd take a chance on -- at worst, they'd help the Phantoms. |

Yeah but Brennan and guys like Del Zotto just they type of low risk/high reward players that you can take a flyer on. no pun intended |

And all the teams that passed on Datsyuk and zetterburg. It is just convient to point out the Flyers but other teams make the same mistakes. The Flyers found Matt Read. So why can't we give some credit. How about Claude Giroux as he wasn't a sure thing when drafted. There will always be hits and misses |

You think Nashville would trade Ellis for B.Schenn? Seems fair to me. |

I know. but Zetterburg was the 210 pick. So every team passed on him multiple times including detriot. Just saying there will always be more misses then hits. So many dynamics that you can't account for everything. |

I am a huge Ellis fan, have been since I saw his magic during the World Juniors.
I just don't think he is on a high enough tier that the Flyers need. This team currently has too many average d-men as is. Josi on the other hand... |

Saw a mock draft with the Flyers picking Guelph small center Rob Fabbri. Do we want this guy even if he's the best available? |

Depends who else is available. I know a lot of people who aren't high on him. I don't think he fits the mold of what Hextall is after. He likes big and fast. |

I think he was being facetious. Most of us understand the fact that scouting and drafting are arts, not sciences. But even if they were sciences, there'd be trial and error.

I say that we trade up if Hayden Fleury is available at 11. He was projected to go 6th a while ago, but has fallen off in some rankings. Seems like Pulock v2.0. All true believers of Raptor Jesus know that Pulock is superior to Morin. |

No. Detroit knew that no one else would take him. They were going to use their first pick on him, but when every other team asked, "Who???" when they were gauging interest, they decided they could use their early picks to get the more sought-after players and draft him last. Otherwise, Jori Tosla would have been a Predator. It's common knowledge. |
