I never understood that points down hill stuff.
How often when you are skating do they point up hill? Usually when you are sitting on the ice.
I would like to get rid of the Orca C. - hillbillydeluxe

You pretty much have to go back to the Sven Butenschoen days to find a team that had two solid scoring lines:
Naslund-Morrison-Bertuzzi - 76g, 130a
Sedin-Sedin-Carter - 73g, 128a
Plus they got 45 goals from the D that season too! - 1970vintage
A Sven Butenschoen reference I had to actually look it up. Yes, amazing, two lines that could actually put the puck in the net (not to mention the offense they got from the D). Also nice sh*tdisturber component - Burrows, Ruutu, Cooke, Jovo, Bertuzzi - yikes, 120 pms and 71 points) |

Canucks have always been a team that creates O from the back end, so I'd like to see them address their lack of PMD issue.
Sedin's will be back to .75-.85 pts/game players next season IMO, but management has to supplant that with secondary scoring.
The biggest issue we'll have next year is in net, just watch. Everyone's gonna return to their regular form, but the goaltending will be average. |

It's interesting that aspect of the team hasn't really been discussed a or dissected to the same extent as every other of the team's issues. I guess people are placing a lot of faith on what is basically still an unproven commodity. I know there have been posters who have said they'd like to see a solid proven back-up that can take over longer stretches of games to ease Lack's workload, both physically and psychologically.
It would be great to get a guy like Khudobin but I think that ship has sailed, as he's proven he's more than a capable starter. Then there are guys like Talbot, Greiss, Stalock, Raanta, Martin Jones, Chad Johnson - not sure who would be available or what their contract situation is, though, or even if they would be a fit here
Edit: where does that leave Markstrom? |

It was brought up because I brought up the point what does a GM do with 9 NTCs .I won't bring it up again.
So what are you doing this summer, fishing Camping? How are the parents? Are you going anywhere special.
I am hoping to go out swimming with my granddaughter this weekend again , you got any plans? - VANTEL
Simple. Get some of those guys to waive'em. Only need a couple to do it. For most of them the NTC is more an opportunity to pick where they go. None of them want to play for a team that doesn't want them. |

NTC are only in place to give players a choice. 99% they make a choice to move when asked. For every Mats Sundin there are about a hundred Ryan Millers. |

So much for the moratorium on talking about the Sedins, which you agreed to. Are we going to have to go there again? should I repost the Malkin vs Henrik stats again? or the litany of players that could also be deemed 'soft' (Gretzky, Sakic etc etc - but who were deemed to be generational talents - do you honestly believe that they would be anywhere as successful if they didn't have the advantage of being protected by having someone ride shotgun with them). The Sedins don't need to be tough - their role is to score and create offense, which they've done so to the tune of being two of the top 10 players in the league for years. Tough doesn't mean that you have to fight etc, being remarkably durable and taking a lot of punishment game after game yet continuing to accomplish amazing production demonstrates their toughness as it is. - Zogg

They have to go with him or trade him... unless they are willing to put 3 Gt's on the roster. He'll get claimed if they waive for re-assignment.
I wonder if Gillis planned to flip him this summer in a Kes deal maybe? Just more paint strokes as he backed himself into a corner othwerwise.

Penguins ownership wanted Bylsma out. Sounds like big debate was on Shero's future. Ultimately, both are gonzo.

Not much of a surprise, they haven't made it to the Cup Finals since they won it in 2009 and they've had some pretty embarrassing showings in the playoffs since then. The fact that with all that talent, that they couldn't win at least one more Cup, and the fact that they couldn't address some of their major issues (lack of consistent goaltending, defense) is why Shero is gone as well. |

Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe: The Bruins need to get faster and quicker. They need to find another defenseman who can make a quick transition out of their own zone with a pass or rushing the puck. Coyotes Keith Yandle and Canucks Alex Edler fit that profile. If Bruins assistant GM Jim Benning ends up being the Canucks new GM, he would know what is in the Bruins system, which would help make a deal easier. Yandle has a $5.25 million cap hit and Edler has a $5 million cap hit. Both would require high price to get them. Both could ask for Brad Marchand, who has three years left at $4.5 million.

You might want to stock up on that moonshine you've taken a fancy to. Could be a very interesting summer. |

Wow...that's a load of BS- Just about the only thing that would piss Canucks fans off more than Marchand would be if Messier came out of retirement.

Shero tried to build through trades to overcome his poor drafting record (familiar)? That is not the model #Canucks want to follow. |
