Vantel - I've read that Dallas has some serious interest in both Kesler and Edler. I like some of their prospects but they have little in the way of NHL ready young players…thoughts?

Keeping Malkin, Crosby, Kunitz, Sutter, Martin, and Maatta as your core is a pretty good start. Stop with two years being out of the play-offs. We aren't devoid of talent like Vancouver. And ... there are alot of idiot GMs out there that will overpay for either player. Too bad your last GM isn't still there. He would have been one idiot that would have. He was terrible.

You don't trade players like Malkin and Crosby. You don't get the value needed in a return. Ask Pittsburgh what happened when it dealt Jagr; ask Edmonton what happened when Wayne got traded. Neither franchise got anything of true value for either to sustain a winning formula.

From my long distance viewpoint, you have a long way to go to be a play-off team. I see two players in the Sedins that aren't elite anymore and your third best player, Kesler (might be your best) wants out.

Elliotte friedman always worth a listen was on team1040 tonight, mentioned fenton interviewed sunday and the canucks are conducting the last couple interviews right now. Also mentioned he has to check on it but the bruins are going to close jim bennings window very soon, they want to make draft plans so they are going to give a deadline in the very short future to hire him or to find someone else.
