What (frank)ing Richards the Bruins are, you got beat by a better team, a team that plays you 4-5 times a year. Finally someone exposed the Bruins flaws (lack of skill, lack of speed, lack of actual talent beyond diving, whining and generally being (frank)tards)

Who here thinks that Linden and the new GM can actually accomplish anything this offseason in terms of significant roster moves?

Not only are their hands tied due to all the NTCs, but I think it's quite obvious that the Aquilinis believe that this team is still a playoff contender. Wishful anyone?

And hey, old man Aquilini knows how to do one thing best, counting dollars (that's Luigi ).

Any one notice during the Torts firing presser when Linden said that "somethings I agreed with Torts, somethings I didn't."

As Torts would have reiterated to Linden in their exit meeintgs that this core is stale and aging, deep down Linden probably agreed, but he'd rather not say it publically anymore because it's going to be nearly impossible to actually deliver and bring about a change to the core.

Piror to becoming President, Linden had made it quite clear that this roster has been together for a long time, something to that effect (Global BC interview).

Now as President he does the easiest thing that can be done and terminates Torts while in effect giving this core a vote of confidence (to some degree).

Coming back to the owners, I don't get the sense that they want to rebuild (which they need to do by the way). All they are interested in is making playoff revenue in the short-term and thus Linden and GM have to play along to this game plan.

When Gillis tried to unload Kesler at the trading deadline, make no mistake that Francesco was not in favour of it. I don't believe he is in favour of it now. We shall see how the summer goes.

While I do believe that the Aquilinis are 100% committed to 'winning,' their vision of winning means keeping this roster because they feel that this gives them the best shot at perhaps another run (wishful thinking indeed).

Yeah, that's basically the worst case scenario that he just laid out. I have to take back a bit what I said about FA, doesn't seem as involved as I had once thought which is great. Who knows if he's cool with a rebuild approach though. If this team goes out to sign a Moulson/Cammy type to big money while keeping Kesler/Edler/Garrison then we're in trouble.

Gillis was fired because the owners expected playoff revenue this season, not because of his lack of moves. That combined with his image (getting worse by the day this past season) and other major things like inability to draft well and develop.
The owners expected this core to be supplemented with youth, NOT supplanted by it. There's a difference there.
They still very much believe in this core. You can bet on it.

Your posts just gave me a great idea. Someone should open a site and make up all kinds of speculative statements and rumors and make money on it.

Linden already said he'd have no problem asking someone to waive a NTC. There's no way some moves don't get made. Gillis' problem was always that he had to feel like the smartest guy in the room. In order to find a trade partner both parties have to feel like they won, or at least got value out of, a trade. I don't think Gillis was capable of making a move where the other team felt that way.

I agree. It also seemed like Gillis was trying to hit a home run or bust to make up for some of his flop trades... rather than just make a good trade.

The Bruins are a classless bunch from top to bottom. I'm so glad they are done.

Guys like Iginila, Krejci, Bergeron, Ericksson are all about class and excellent examples of how the game should be played. Don't lump in quality and exceptional, classy players with douchebags like Marchand

Iggy had class, as a flames captain I respected him, as a pen I did too, even as a bruin. However it only took 10 playoff games for him to ruin that reputation he's built over the last 20 years. Bergeron is a Richard too, constantly trying to flip on price. And in Bergeron's case I don't think sticking his fingers in burrows mouth is a shining example of class...

I love how Lucic tries to turn it around and put it on Weise in the Post Game Presser like he isn't the one thats at fault...........

If a team wants to play like Boston thats great, but I can't stand when they start crying when someone starts to chirp them back.
