So if I summarize this Canuck fans know everything other fans no little.
- VANTEL

Penguins fans are particularly bad. An Oilers fan can't go on there at all because "the Oilers suck , you couldn't possibly know anything about hockey". Just the way it goes.

Are you kidding me? That team has all the same holes as Edmonton, except the pieces that are in place are waaay better.
Point is, you can't win a good top six and little else.

Well, I think that's a bit of an exaggeration, as I think the Pens have a fairly deep supporting cast, and arguably two of the top players in the world. I think their problem is a combination of goal-tending and not enough defense from their defensive core.

Edit: I think the Oil certainly have similar problems to that exent

You are absolutely correct - Canuck fans have INFINITELY more knowledge about the CANUCKS than any other fanbase does.

I don't want to spoil the party but fan bases overvalue their players.

Hard to believe that the Lightning are 10mins away from getting 2 first round drafts picks and Ryan Callahan for Marty St. Louis

Is that not essentially Edmontons problem? Not that I expect you know much about the real problems in Ednonton.

Obviously it was worth it - no?

(If they make the final four that is)

Agree on that, but from what I've seen on this board at least, there is in general a fairly significant number of posters that are reasonable and have very realistic assessments of this team, analysis that is without rose-coloured glasses.

I don't think they'll win it, but I hope they beat the Pens. You never know, but I don't think they can beat a Western team ver seven games.

If you're the Lightning - Yes.

If you're the Rangers, not so sure. I'm pretty sure Callahan would have been just as productive as St. Louis these playoffs. The 2 firsts are going to hurt NYR down the road. Especially with TB's recent drafting record and playing in the same conference.

No, I'm certainly no expert when it comes to properly assessing the Oil. Like most people, I do know they have some great talent and an offensive core that could be top notch for years to come. From what I've been able to ascertain, the main problem also seems to be one that most teams have - a quality defensive quartet and a solid third pairing.

I have seen many posters with very level heads say significant overvalues of this club.

The most noticeable were at the beginning of the year when most were calling for a 3 rd place finish, eventually they started to see the truth .

Another thing I seen was overvaluing of our players and undervaluing other teams value trade players.

Lions traded their 5th overall pick for Kevin Glenn - oh I forgot, there's only eight teams

Nucker says he plays soft but I sure like him this PO. It don't know about regular season. This is how Torts wanted him to play but he never did.

People had no way of prognosticating just how bad the Tortorella 'era' would be, that there would be significant injuries to all of the core at one time or another, and that we'd still be dealing with the distraction of the Luongo situation. I think predicting a 3-4th place finish was actually reasonable at that time.

Penguins miss Matt Cooke and players like him. They need a heavier lineup.
