Too true. But in our defense all of us (collectively or individually) have advocated for all of those guys before they broke out.

The trick is obviously to get a player right on the cusp of an upswing. Once they've arrived they're worth Fort Knox in trade. I don't believe Gillis had an eye for budding talent. Hopefully the next guys do.

How do you know how Sutter cant be as a second line center? He was coming along nicely in Car. I think he would be a burrows type player with size. There is no way he would be given the chance over Malkin or Crosby.

if we can get Fluery I will be happy. I know I am a lot more concerned about D than most on here. We are paper thin on D on the farm. we have forwards and centres and even goalies, but after Credarholm it is thin thin thin

I can't tell you how speculative that statement is IMO. There is no straight line to development success and apart from Horvat I don't think we have any bluechippers on the farm.

We've got no replacement plan for the Sedins. Whatever you think about their game, playing anyone else against top D pairings around the league night in and night out is a nightmare thought when I look down our roster (and the farm).
